Newbie here - Tell me some perks

We have just closed on our first DVC. I have received my pin number via email but I have not received my membership ID. So, I can't log in yet to Disney's website.

Please, tell me some of the perks I will get to enjoy now that I'm a member. I can't wait til my mail runs tomorrow!!!!

Congratulations on your new purchase, and WELCOME HOME!

There are quite a few restaurant discounts for DVC members, but to me the main perks are:

• $100 discount on annual passes (this is the BIG one!)
• Free valet parking at DVC resorts
• Pool hopping privileges with some restrictions
• Early entry on new attractions (soft openings)
• Ability to take part in Disney Dining Plan

I know there are others but these are the ones that stick out to me.

Keep in mind, every one of these could change or disappear over time. They are perks, not entitlements.

I think that I read somewhere that I get a discount on the dining plan??? - for me and five other people???

Is this the case? And if so, does that mean my DVC family of four PLUS five other people? My husband and I are both owners on the deed - so would we both get five other people????

Can you tell that we are planning a grand gathering for next October???

No discount on the dining plan that I am aware of. What you may be reading about is the DDE (Disney Dining Experience), it is not a DVC perk, it is available if you have an annual pass or are a Florida Resident. The card is $65 and is good for one year.

It gives a 20% discount at almost all Disney owned table service and buffet eateries, as well as on adult beverages.

One card is good for up to 10 people (that may change next year, it used to be 6, rumor has it at 8 next year, along with a madatory gratuity being added, we'll see) Everyone has to be on the same check.
