We are planning to camp at FW next year - the last week of Sept into October. I assume now would be the time to make reservations? What is the best way to do it? We have AAA - should we go through them or just go through DW? We plan to do the meal plan as well, do we need to select that now, or could we add it later?

Great site - very helpful! :thumbsup2

I have found that going thru Disney direct is the best way and you can still get AAA discount if it is available. Once you go thru a travel agent you will have to deal with them, Disney will not talk to you about your reservation.

Thanks for the quick answer! I do think the AAA discount is in effect at that time, but I will go through DW then. Is it too soon to do it now? We are 2 weeks over a year out!

You should be able to book if there is anything - reservations are taken out to 500 days I believe from reading other posts.

One of the moderators here, Rhonda, works for Dreams Unlimited, one of the DIS board sponsors. She will book campsites and then make sure you get all the available discounts even if they change after you have made the reservation. And she will continue to monitor for additional discounts for the time frame you are staying.

Do I have that right, Rhonda?

If you want to do a package with Dining AND get the AAA discount, then you would have to do a AAA package through a AAA agent.

If you want to do campsite only, then you can book through Disney or any travel agent and get the AAA discount for the campsite.
