Newbie here, can you rent a room with points ...

I have a very small amount of points left for a vacation I have planned for July. I know I can bank them, however, I am currently paying cash for my daughters room at the pop century. Can I book a room at pop with points?? I am a new owner , still do not have my password to get online to see what I can and can not do.

Pop Century is not one of the resorts you can book with points.

And to book a non-DVC resort room would probably take more than a small amount of points. The point levels for those are quite high.

Thanks for the info. I do have enough to book a moderate for 1 or 2 nights, but I figure it is probably cheaper to pay cash for that and bank the rest of the points.

You cannot book rooms at any of the value resorts, using points.

You also cannot book rooms at any resort which has a DVC resort component. Currently these would be BWI, BC, WL, and eventually it'll include AKL.

The lowest points for any WDW resort are 16 points/night, Standard View, Sun-Thurs, Value Season (18 pts Regular Season, 21 Peak Season, and 22 Holiday season) at Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, and Port Orleans.

Weekend points each of the above are 29 Value season, 32 Regular season, 38 peak season, 40 holiday season.

Instead of Pop, why not upgrade your daughter to a room at OKW or SSR?

Why would you not want to reserve a room for them at DVC? That certainly is cheaper and a better room.
