newbie here- ? about renting pts

We are planning a trip Nov 20-27. If I calculated right it would be 98 points to stay at the BWV which would equal to about $980. Am I doing this right? And would it be possible to rent these points from a member? I don't care about the view, because just staying at this resort would be a treat. TIA

98 points would be correct for a standard view. However, it is very unlikely that there are any standard view rooms left for this time (I assume you are talking about 2005) Standard view rooms for popular times are almost always booked up by members 11 months ahead of time. Thanksgiving week is a busy time for the DVC resorts. It's also possible that even the more expensive Preferred view - Pool/Garden category at the BWV is sold out for some or all of your nights.

You'll need to contact a DVC member very quickly to check on availability for you. Best thing to do is post your request on the Rent/Trade Forum.

If there isn't availability at the BWV, you may be able to rent a reservation for Thanksgiving week for OKW or SSR - OKW is larger than the other on site resorts and SSR is still in the construction stages, so there may be more availability there.
