I wouldn't worry about the hurricane. I live in Pensacola and we will probably get the hurricane. I guess I'm to the point that I have to laugh about it because this has been very crazy. I'm actually blaming the hurricanes on a co-worker who stated that hurricanes like her and they seem to follow her. Since she moved here we have had one strom after another.

Please say some prayers that the storm will die down and Pensacola won't be hit. We are still trying to recover from Ivan and a few other storms.

We will keep all the Panhandle in our prayers and thoughts that it will just die down and be minor. Good luck!

I currently live in the Gulf Coast of MS (East of Biloxi)( We Had torrential rain and 50+ winds last night because of TS Cindy) - and we are thinking of GOING to Orlando for Dennis :teeth: ----of course it's way too early to actually plan an evacuation yet. Jill

I am watching this soon-to-be-hurricane (maybe at the 5:00 update) ...
Dang I was off by an hour, special advisory at 6:00 moved Dennis to hurricane status.

I'm tired of hurricane season already.

I was there in August 2004 during Hurricane Charley and honestly, I had a lot of fun during the hurricane. You meet so many people because everyone is stuck in the hotel and its a lot of people's first hurricane. The only thing was, that during Hurricane Charley, they shut down all the parks at around 1:00, but luckily we got an extra day for free.

My ds (15) is going on a mission trip to Alabama on Saturday - we are all worried about the hurricaine (the kids arent of course). I am not familiar with Alabama but from what they tell me they are staying in the northern part of AL (Anniston). They are going to do repairs on homes damaged in another storm last year. I hope it misses AL, keeping my fingers crossed!! Send some pixie dust our way for the mission trip to be successful and no storms!! :teeth:

Keep in mind that even if the hurricane is projected to hit the panhandle, which it is right at this moment, it can still stall and turn in any direction. If it continues on its projected path, you will still have rain and wind in Orlando. At this MOMENT, nothing to cancel your vacation over, just wear your poncho and bring an umbrella.

it still will bring wind and rain come this weekend if it stays on its current path. It did move more to the east earlier today so I wouldnt rule it totally out yet. its that time of year again for us floridians. be prepared always
