Newbie Airtran Flyer-Quick Question

I'm thinking of booking four tickets on Airtran for a quick WDW trip in July. I can get a $49 promo fair each way out of Philadelphia. It will be myself, DH, and 3 DD's (one will be about 2 months old and will fly as a lap child.)

It says that the seats for this promo fare are assigned at check in. Do you think I will have a problem getting all of our seats together? I've never flown before without having the seats assigned at the time of booking. FWIW, It's an 11:25 flight out of Philly. (We normally fly out of Newark.)

Secondly, do I have to call ahead to let Airtran know that I will be flying with a lap child? I don't see anywhere on the website where I can indicate this.

I've only flown Airtran once before, but you can select your seat assignments 24 hours prior to departure on line. I reserved my seats close to 24 hrs prior. Most of the plane was available.

Thanks for the quick response. I went ahead and booked the tickets. Once I got through the process it did have a place to put if you were traveling with a lap child but it wouldn't let me enter the fields because it wants a birthdate (which I obviously don't have.) When I tried to enter my due date it wouldn't allow that either (because it's in advance.)

I guess I will just call them after she is delivered and have them add her to my reservation as a lap child.

I have flown AirTran several times out of Philly. Once was a bad experience (we were stuck looknig for parking and were there 20 min before our flight and they wouldn't let us check in. I had a 2 y.o. and 4 y.o. that had to wait 4 hours for another flight with another airline (and lost our money). The last time I flew AirTran was a lot better....they let those with strollers board first, so make sure you bring your stroller to the gate.
