Newbie Addon Question

Hello all!

First and formost y'all rock! The information I have learned here is so invaluable! Thanks!

We purchased 180 points at SSR in February and can't wait to try them out come November.
My question is about addons (I've searched but can't find the easy answer!).

If I purchase another, say, 20 resale points at OKW (just making the math simple for myself ), can I join bother ownerships together to have 200 points to use at a DVC resort at some point in time, or do I have to make 2 separate reservations?

How would I use those 200 points to my advantage?

With an add-on at another resort, you probabily want to get enough points to take advantage of the 11 month booking window...

For example... My DW and I have 215 pts at BWV... A 55 pt add on at VB, and another 60 pt add on at VB... All with the same use year...

215 BWV + 115 VB = 330 total....

We can use creative banking and borrow rules to use get 11 month booking at BWV with the 215 BWV points, or we could do the same to book VB at 11 months out with the 115 points we own there...

What we cannot do, is use any of this years 215 BWV to book 11 months out at Vero, and vice versa...

At the 7 month window, everything is fair game... For instance, we can use any combination of the points to go to any DVC resort.. BVC, OKW, VWL, HHI, etc...

We can also use any combination of the points for Concierge, World Passport, Adventure, or the Disney collections...

My two biggest pieces of advice with an add-on..
1) Keep it to the same Use Year, if possible.. When buying through DVC, they pretty much enforce this rule... Having two UY's can really complicate things...
2) With the smaller addon's, I'd keep the points at the same resort as the one you primarily own at... 200 pts all at SSR would function better than 180 at SSR and 20 at OKW... The more points the add on though, the better versitility you'd get out of it if it were a seperate resort...
