Anyone have any good safe cheap hotel recomendations at Newark airport?

I am probably going to Priceline a hotel, but wanted to ask my Dis'er friends first! Thanks!!! :thumbsup2

Quite a few - Country Inn, Comfort Inn, Hampton, Fairfileld, Wyndham Garden.

Are you leaving your car? We paid under $200 for a park and fly package at the airport Marriott - can't say enough good things about the hotel and their shuttle service. We had 8 nights of parking - including the night we stayed at the hotel.

We stayed at Wyndham Garden this March for their park n' fly. We used credit card points so I'm not sure what the cost was but our two daughters and sons in law couldn't find better so they paid to stay.

How was their shuttle to the airport?

Careful with PL. Last time I looked the Hilton at Newark Penn Station was listed in the airport zone. That hotel has limited shuttles to EWR. Makes sense since Hilton also has a hotel that's located in the "real" airport zone.

Are you looking for park and fly? The PL rate won't include parking while your on your trip. Some of the hotels that participate with PL don't even include free parking during your stay.

Excellent. As I recall they run hourly between midnight and 6 am, half-hourly through the rest of the day. The vehicles are small busses, not vans so you're not likely to get shut out of a given run as we've seen happen at the Ramada in PHL. We had a nice Happy Hour in their lounge before our flight to Cancun, you park your car in their regular, secure lot, ours was in the first row right by the main entrance. By ALL MEANS, avoid the Best Western there.

I wasnt looking for Park and Fly, but the PP has made me change my mind. For $125 we can get a night at the hotel, and parking... Much better then $121 for a limo early in the am one way, or daily at the airport.

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!! :thumbsup2

I once stayed at the Marriott which is located across the street from all the terminals. No complaints.

We stayed at the SpringHill Suites on 1&9 (across from airport) last week. It's a Marriott property and right next door is a Courtyard and I think a Fairfield.

I had a good rate and continental breakfast so I can't complain. Although I wouldn't call the rooms a "Suite", the extra space was helpful with the kids. It was pretty clean (doesn't compare to Disney accomodations, though :( ) and safe and I would stay there again for the price and space.

There is no restaurant for dinner but the Courtyard has a Bistro.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! :thumbsup2

I booked the Wyndham King stay and fly for $99!!!!!! :cool1:
Cant beat a hotel and parking for $112 total!
Now we dont have to bother friends to get up early and pick us up on the return.

For those that haven't booked, I've stayed at the Hilton Newark Airport (the one across from the airport). It doesn't get the best reviews, and while I'll agree it isn't the nicest place I've ever stayed, it was clean and we didn't have any problems. Location is convenient, and the staff was friendly. Would definitely stay there again!
