Thinking about joining this cruise! I always plan a year in advance but this time it's more of an impromptu one. If we do it (and I'll know by Friday) it will just be DH and I. Annmarie

I imagine we'll get more FE participants as the month goes on - hope so! In the meantime, tell me if I've got this right: Let's say there are 24 families and we split into 2 groups (clearly the numbers will be different later on, but nevertheless). Some will choose to be in both groups and give FE gifts to everyone on the list, some will choose to be in one group only. The groups won't be "12 and 12", though, as the families joining both groups will be counted twice. Right? I think I get it! I vote for a mix of ages in both groups. More fun IMHO!

OK...all excited...now question....for the FE...do I need to buy gifts for each day at sea or just 1 gift for everyone? I never did it before so I want to get it right

Not that I've ever done this before but it seems that "anything goes" regarding the FE gifts. Most seem to deliver gifts once, though some do more than once. It's also a matter of time taken to deliver. Besides the gift buying/making/creating. Also, some like to deliver at the start of the cruise, others before pirate night, etc.

Perfect answer to my understanding fo FE as well. I've only done it once, but we received one gift per cabin from some, one gift per person from some, and multiple gifts from others...

We got an 11:30 port arrival time (11:00 was not available), which I am happy with considering we are, after all, first-timers!

Didn't try for Palo and didn't book excursions - so no news there!

Can I just vent? A very close friend, who happens to be "one who cruises", gave me a piece of her mind regarding my DIS and Disney and FE etc. obsession. "Why would you want to meet people you don't know?" "Why do you want to exchange junk with other people?" "I can barely get my suitcases packed; why would anyone want all that extra stuff to do?" "Don't you have other things to do than play on the computer with silly smilies?"etc. etc. etc. I guess she is in the category of "doesn't get it, never mind", right? I'm glad she's not on our cruise. In fact, remind me never to travel with her anywhere!

Different strokes for different folks as my mom says. I love DIS and getting first hand experience from everyone, and CAN'T WAIT TO MEET YOU GUYS!!

Hi everyone! I have a question about the HOHO buses for all you experienced cruisers! This newbie is very excited but I want to make sure I understand how the HOHO's work.

I understand the buses run in loops, looks like 2-3 different ones depending on which port. Do the buses arrive/depart at each stop every 20-30 minutes all day...so if we got off at one site, then walked a bit and saw other things not mentioned on the HOHO list, we can walk back to the stop and get the next bus?

I can't walk long distances so being able to ride to places would be great--but we also want to stop off at places like Cows, the Lunchbox candy place, etc. Would this be possible do you think? Hope my question makes sense to you all!

Pehaps you can email the specific HOHO company to see what their rotation schedule is ? The few that I used were about 20-30 minutes apart and yes we got on and off at our leisure.

Hi everyone!

Just getting caught up on our way back from Disney World. While we were there, two ships went out so we saw the groups gathering together at our resort to head to the port, made me wish for June to come sooner!

I am good for both groups unless we get lots more. I already purchased all my items and started making everything for 24 so count our 3 cabins in the "both" groups for now. Thanks!

I've set our dvr to re ord it. I thought others might want to watch it. It is channel 186 on Dish Network. Tomorrow is Save the Titanic with Bob Ballard.

Hi All! I'm a newbie to the DISboards. A frequent cruiser friend of mine pointed me in this direction. We are sailing on this cruise in June and are super excited! There will be me, DH, DS(10) and DD(8). This is a SURPRISE for our children!! It's been really hard keeping it a secret!! This will be my and DH's 3rd cruise, and the 2nd for our kids.

Any chance I can still get in on FE? That's what it's called right? New to that too...my friend said it was a must do so I'm totally interested in it. Help?

Speaking of Fish Extenders....Even though we had a really, really cute one from our first cruise, I was inspired by recent posts about duct tape fish extenders on the forum, and my daughter LOVES duct tape so.....we made a new one for this summer....We're going to add our names to the pockets on the top still, but I haven't had time to go pick up some cute alphabet stickers yet....But I had to share!!




Now we'll start on gifts over the next couple weeks...

That's really cool!! How did you do that? Are there directions somewhere or did you just wing it?

I made a super easy FE. I bought two small tote bags. Cut the one strap in half and then hand sewed it to the other one. Now I have two pockets. I bought disney stickers and hot glued them to the bags. I didn't think they would stay without some extra glue. Then I used a sharpie to write our names. Very easy, they lasted through our first cruise and I will use it again on this one.
