OK - just about ready! Found a reasonable hotel in Manhattan (had switched to out at LGA, but this was only $77 more so probably a wash with cab fare - DoubleTree Times Square South).
FE gifts in progress!
Now to get some dry cleaning done and pack! We fly out Saturday morning.
See you all soon!
Jeff
We are almost ready as well. We have 3/4 of everything packed and just about 4 FE gifts to finish (that we'll finish tomorrow). We fly out at 9 Saturday morning. Can't believe it's almost here!
For the non formal nights short are NOT ok..correct?
Jeans are ok however? With short sleeve polo?
Formal night shirt and tie enough? Or do we need a jacket as well?
Thanks,
Vince
As stated below, no formal night - only semi-formal
Here is what the DCL site says. I believe we only have a semi-formal night like a 4 night (they only have listings for 4 night and 7 night, so I combined them):
First night: cruise casualno shorts, swimwear or tank tops
Two additional "cruise casual" nightsno shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One semi-formal night for men: suit/jacket; for women: dress or pantsuit.
Final night: cruise casualno shorts, swimwear or tank tops
Dress code at Palo on all cruises:
Men: dress pants and shirt or jacket
Women: dress or pantsuit
Please no jeans, shorts, capri pants, flip-flops or tennis shoes
Not to start a debate as I really don't care one way or the other what people wear and I know how these threads get carried away on the main boards, but I wanted you to know that my email from Disney with the subject "Final Reminders Before Your Disney Cruise" says
Packing for Paradise. Here are a few tips on things to bring. For more details, be sure to refer to the Planning Center.
Days
Onboard casual wear (shorts, slacks, jeans, long sleeve shirts)
Comfortable shoes (sneakers, hiking boots, good socks)
Port wear (Wool or fleece sweater, waterproof jacket. turtleneck, comfortable long sleeve shirts, hats, gloves)
Comfy warm coats, gloves, hats.
Nice dining attire (no jeans or shorts at dinner, please)
Optional formal attire.
I bolded and underlined the no jeans part. It seems their emails and website conflict. I just wanted you to know both wording for your information.
I've been checking the weather in Saint John and Nova Scotia and today the temperature in Nova Scotia was 53 while the temp in Saint John was 70. I was surprised there was such a jump in between them.
I'm in New York all this week and I'm super excited to get on the ship! Is anyone else in the city doing things this week?
Wow! That is a big difference. We are doing our New York time after the cruise.
