New Yorkers Beware...Mickey is coming to town! June 17th, 2012 Canada Cruise

Hi! I put my info in the doc. I need someone to take out the first one I put in. Sorry I hit a wrong button and it submitted it before I was done.

Thanks

I was looking at the excursions and the pink bus seem to be the most practical of them especially for my large family. Any one ever do one of the hop on hop off bus tours before.

We've done HOHO bus tours and they are definitely a good way to see a city in a short period of time:thumbsup2. The kids loved sitting up top, and we took lots of pictures "from the bus". It's helpful to have a plan in advance regarding where you want to get off. Also, there seem to be different "loops"both in Halifax and Saint John, so think ahead which is most interesting and do that first. When you're all tired, it's fun to just sit on the bus and watch the city go by:yay:!

Sooo....quietttttt......anyone out there?!? :goodvibes

I was thinking the same thing. I guess as we get closer thing will put up. I brought the stuff to work on making me frist FE.

I've been thinking that all along, but it doesn't seem to be picking up from the beginning....Guess we are just a quiet bunch.

I think we've made a final decision on what we're going to give for FE gifts. We're going to look around Hobby Lobby and make our final decisions this weekend so we can get started on our gifts.

Jealous. Wish i had your 3 cruises booked. :-)

Nope...you are not on the list...

Checking in here from Virginia! Getting very excited! We are trying to finalize our excursion plans because we are CC gold and can book in 2 weeks! Are there any Plats out there that can tell us some times? I have been looking on the earlier cruise too but haven't seen any times discussed.
I got my first box delivered of FE stuff today so time to get busy!! :thumbsup2

I'm here, too!!!! Did I mention that I started making our FEs:banana:? Here's how the big one is so far.

I'm currently glueing mickey doo-hickeys to go on the ends of the wooden dowel...

Let's hear what port excursions folks are thinking about.
I'm more excited about the offerings in Saint John. Not sure if we'll do it Disney or on our own, but the speed boat ride on the reversing falls looks like something my teens would love! Seems like there's a lot to see just walking, but maybe the HOHO bus would make sense, too. We also want some sort of a boat ride, maybe the schooner in Halifax?
What are you guys thinking ofpopcorn::
It's raining buckets and cold/damp here, looking forward to June!

I'm silver so if no one else can chime in, I'd love to know more about times when you book.

If we don't have any platinums, isn't there a cruise before ours? Maybe you could find that thread for details?

Love your FE! Super cute!

I pretty much turned excursions over to my dd11 as she's at that age where she likes some kid stuff, but other is "not cool." We might go with some of these through Disney and we might end up doing private booked or even in one port, we might just get off and explore....no decisions yet :rotfl:

Some of us want to try to squeeze in 2 a day if the times are right! Thanks for any help you can give us!!!!

Ok - here are all the times, but I have a question...why do you want this? You will not be able to "stack" excursions - because the cruise line insists that there be at least 1.5 hours between return time and leaving on the next excursion. None of these times are fixed and will not be until we dock, so all the times are purely for overview and planning - not time specific. good luck with what ever you are planning!

Saint John

IF we book a Disney adventure, then I'm thinking of the following:
Halifax:
Tall Ship Silva

Saint John:
Scenic Railway
River Cruise
Saint John Rocks

I am drawn to the Maple activitiy, too. But how do they do that in the warm weather? Do they have snow stored in the freezer? I also like the Lobsters and Lighthouses, but we don't eat lobster, so that'd sort of be a waste. Same for the Kayak cookout. Oh well.

There does seem to be a lot to do at the ports even without needing to invest in an official trip. These are two things I'm looking at in Saint John, for my thrill-seeking teens:
http://www.jetboatrides.com/thrill.html
http://www.saintjohnadventures.ca/index.cfm
Also, we "need" to visit this store in either Saint John or Halifax:cool1::
http://www.freaklunchbox.com/Main Pages/about-us.html
Even the HOHO bus is much less expensive to do NOT with Disney. So we'll have to decide! Maybe it's good that we're new and can only book things in April!

I put the question on the 6/10/12 Canada cruise meet thread so hopefully someone will answer with their findings. If not, I plan on booking mine when I can on March 4th so I will let you all know then.

Carol

Thanks for getting that list for us! GREAT:woohoo:!

Thanks pkmingo....almost everything starts in the morning so I guess we'll have decisions to make....

Think I'll spend the weekend really studying the excursions and the ports to also check out times and prices if not booked with Disney....

So I'm procrastinating all the things I need to do this morning and thinking about my days in Canada....

Starting with Halifax and just found that we will be the only ship in port that day...Sounds good to me for any plans you are trying to make on your own...

Yes, thankfully that big Carnival ship is only with us in Saint Johns! I too am trying to finalize our plans. I think we are starting to narrow it down. Will be glad to get it all set then will start concentrating more on FEs!

We are blessed with triple Disney bliss as we have a trip to Disney World in the Spring for just the two of us, then this cruise with friends, then a trip to Disneyland with kids and grandkids to go to CarsLand after it opens in June as my grandson is a HUGE Cars fan. All this planning is a little hard to keep up but I wouldn't trade it for the world! :lovestruc
