Sailing past the Statue of Liberty with the New York skyline in the background just sounds amazing! Was it a merrytime cruise? This one has three days at sea...did hours have that many? Did you feel like it was too many days at sea in a row? Sorry for all the questions haha
I believe it was a Merrytime cruise since we did the gingerbread house. We're fine with 3 sea days, below was the itinerary:
Saturday 05-Nov-2016 PORT OF NEW YORK 4:00 PM
Sunday 06-Nov-2016 AT SEA
Monday 07-Nov-2016 AT SEA
Tuesday 08-Nov-2016 AT SEA
Wednesday 09-Nov-2016 ST MAARTEN 8:30 AM 4:45 PM
Thursday 10-Nov-2016 TORTOLA 7:30 AM 4:45 PM
Friday 11-Nov-2016 SAN JUAN 7:45 AM
This will be my first NYC to San Juan cruise but have sailed north out ofNYC four times. I just love sailing past the Statue of Liberty, down the Hudson and under the Verranzano Narrows Bridge. Looking forward to this cruise. My daughter and her family live in Puerto Rico. Hope Maria doesn't mess this up any more than Irma has. I want to visit my grandchildren. I'm up typing tonight because I'm so worried about them.
Actually, you sail past the SOL but the New Jersey is behind her, not the NYC skyline. The sail down the Hudson River is really cool and you do see all of the NYC skyline but the SOL is on the other side of the ship.

We did the same cruise last year (although we have sailed out of NYC many times). I LOVE sailing from NYC - my favorite port to sail from. We were blessed with nice weather and had a great sailaway. The one-way to Puerto Rico was a great cruise - I LOVE San Juan - a great port for exploring. We stayed over an extra night before flying home. It was a Very Merrytime Cruise but I since we were just done with Halloween it did seem a bit early. But...the Very Merrytime Cruises are the best!! Lots of activities - lighting of the Christmas tree, arrival of Santa/Mrs. Claus, gingerbread house making, ornament making, etc. Definitely recommend the Merrytime Cruise! It wasn't rough at all...I think that happens in winter?
We had that exact same questions back in 2005 on our first Panama Canal cruise from LA to Port Canaveral. 14 nights - 4 ports + the Canal Transit = lots of days at sea! The easy answer is that NO - 7 nights in a row at sea are NOT too many It was really great to unplug from the rest of the world and work with no one bothering me!!

I'm honestly looking forward to this!! We've never had back to back to back sea days on any of the DCL cruises we've taken...I think it's going to be nice to unwind and relax some!! So looking forward to it!

You are going to love sea days... we did the EBTA this May with 6 sea days, and we completely love them. So many things to do, you are not gonna get bored at all. Enjoy your cruise!!!
