Check out the other thread "driving to WDW for 16 hours with kids". I think there is a site for I-95 that gives some information on where there may be some good places to stop. How many hours a day do you plan on driving? Make sure you don't get to DC around rush hour (in the AM or PM). Good luck, Linda

We drove to Disney last year from bel Air maryland and it was a little over a 15 hour drive. We had a 6 yr old, just turned 3 yr old and a 9 months old with us. We left at 2 AM so that the kids would sleep until around 8. So that was 6 hours off of our trip worring about the kids. When they woke up we headed for the first exit with a McDonalds for Breakfast. They ate and ran around outside (it took about an hour) then we were back on the road. We put in Cinderella and each of the girls had head phones on (A LIFE SAVER!) so that they could listen and we could listen to the radio. After that was over we gave them juice boxes and coloring books and let them color for a little while. Around 12:30 we stopped for lunch and again let them run around for a while. When we got back into the car, we put another movie in and they watched it but they wanted something to do. We pulled out the Polly pockets and kept them busy for a long time but it was a pain cause they would drop them and I would have to crawl back and get them! lol, We also bought new movies that they had not seen yet (Wizard of Oz, Some shaggy Dog movie ect) and they watched them. They slept a little and then when they woke up we gave them some snacks and stopped at a rest area in GA. (BEWARE THERE ARE TONS OF COPS ****TING RADAR IN GEORGIA!) We let them run a round and get some engery out and then we headed back on the road.

From GA it seems like you will NEVER make it there! It takes forever! We wanted to arrive in Florida before rush hour but it seemed like it was always rush hour! Traffic was terrible and we sat still for a long time. We gave each of the kids some other new toys that we had packed with us and they worked for a while, put on a new movie which was okay as well. the baby was fussy a little towards the end so we stopped again. Let the kids run around and all (Took some great pictures of the kids in GA in front of MASSIVE palm trees!) and then drove the rest of the way stright through. We arrived and checked in and went to sleep! The kids were so tired and did not wake up until after 10 the next morning! It is so funny how doing so much of nothing can make you SO tired!

In Maryland on 95, there are a few nice rest stopps. The Maryland House is really nice and it has a lot of different types of food. Do not stop at the Travel Plaza which is right off of 95! It is a bad place to stop as it is in a bad area and scarey!

hope to help! Candice:banana:
