New York Hotel Help

Hi,

I was hoping that someone could help me.

I am thinking of going to New York this October and have found quite a good flight but all the hotels seem to be quite expensive.

Does anyone know of any good travel websites that offer discounted hotels?

Has anyone got any recomendations for good, nice hotels but not the most espensive.

Start with www.biddingForTravel.com. That's Priceline's guideline to bid. You can actually find some good deal for NYC.

We are staying at the Hotel Edison. Not the most luxurious of hotels but they have renovated most of the rooms now and it is very safe, always clean, and a great Times Square location. We see a lot of theater, so the location in very important for us. For 2 double beds, I got a AAA rate of $175/night. I'll be in New York at the end of this month with my mother and we got a senior rate of $145/night.

I have stayed at many hotels in New York and the only ones I would not go back to are the Hotel Belvedere and the Best Western President.

It's been awhile, but we stayed at the Hotel Beacon in May 2001 and liked it very much. I believe it is at 75th and Broadway. Very convenient to subway, Central Park, and other points of interest. Room had 2 double beds, very nice bathroom, and mini kitchen. I think we paid $119.00 per night. There are a couple of good grocery stores close by (one right across the street) and the neighborhood seemed very safe. The hotel has a website and check Trip Advisor website for comments from previous guests of the hotel. Have fun!
