New Years trip 2005 - Need help!

Would appreciate suggestions from those that stayed off-site around New Years. How hard was it getting to/from the parks, and did you get shut-out of any park? I keep hearing that NYE is a nightmare, especially if you don't stay on-site.

WDW does close early the entire week from CHristmas to NY - however if you are arriving on NY - afterwards the parks start to be empty.

however if you want to do NY - bring your stuff - they have lockers - bring everything that you will need for the day - and be prepared to stay the ENTIRE day at the park of your choice.

I don't like being in a crowd that can't move - but hey everyone has different taste.
