Welcome, Jan! This will be our first New Years cruise as well. We also have another couple joining us who should eventually be posting here, Jen & Marc.
They were our tablemates on the April 2010 EB Transatlantic, and we've become fast friends with them as well as the third couple at our table, and all 6 of us get together often. In fact, will be on the 11/10 DREAM sailing with the four of them - here we are -

Here is an updated Roll Call until Ken (disdel) gets back on and takes this over again! Once Ken gets back on, he can copy it over to his post one, and we will be good to go! FYI: The ages of the children are at sail time. If people mentioned where they are from (or if it is over in the left column under the disname) I have added it here. Same goes for stateroom. These are all the additions that I found from 5/23/12 until now. I moved really fast through the earlier posts, so if I have gotten something wrong, please forgive me and tell me what needs to be corrected!

Meanwhile, getting ready for our "Intro to the DREAM" cruise in two weeks, and then afterwards can add the reeeeealllly long countdown for this cruise!

Hi Cruisers,
We have not booked yet, but I thought I'd drop in and say hi. We did our first ever cruise over Halloween this year: four-day on the Dream. It was so much fun I am looking forward to another one. I don't have my DH totally sold on a 7-day yet (he is always the one concerned about cost), but I am planning on it anyway. With any luck cruising will be me (Sarah) my DH (Jesse) and our 2 DDs:Leah (10 at the time of the cruise) and Sophie (7 for the cruise). Then possibly my sister-in-law and her DH, their 3 DDs (9, 7, and 3). My MIL and her BF. And also my DH's aunt and uncle, their daughter and her son (11). That was the group on the Dream and everyone wants to repeat the experience.

I would love to hear more about everyone's cruising experiences. Anyone planning a trip on the Fantasy before the NYE cruise?

We would do another FE, but only if it stays smaller than the first one we did (51 cabins, 170 people!). Looking forward to 2 years of planning.

What a great family NYE that would be

When it came to organizing a FE group, I would hope we could keep it to smaller groups, if need be. I can't even imagine dealing with 51 staterooms and that many people - how would you pack your own clothes?
Ones we participated in were around the 15-18 stateroom size.

Yep, coming up on ONLY 2 years to go

Our 3-day on the DREAM last month was, of course, too short
We have high hopes for the FANTASY to be everything the DREAM is, and more!

I had a whole suitcase just for FE items. It was kind of ridiculous.

4 days was too short. 3 days must have seemed like just a little taste.

It will be interesting to see if the Fantasy goes through the same growing pains that the Dream did, or if they learned enough the first time.

Full suitcase of FE gifts? Yikes, DW would never give up that much of her alloted space As it is, MY allotment is partially dedicated to her "stuff".

And yes, three days is waaaay too short, but it's what we had available to just "see" the DREAM this time. In the future, we'll hopefully just be doing 3- or 4-days when we A. Live nearby and B. get last-minute FL resident deals

And if this NYE cruise is the first time we get aboard Fantasy, she'll have been in service nearly 2 years, so teething pains should be over. Design issues which the DREAM has, well, the Fantasy build is probably too far along for major changes if they haven't already been addressed.

Booked this cruise when I was on the Dream at the beginning of the month. I have been so busy with work and family since I came home on the 6th, I have not had a chance to tell DH. This will be our 3rd NYE cruise. 2nd Eastern and 2nd Fantasy cruise. DS came home from university this weekend (reason for being so busy, I spent over 6 hrs. driving to and from the university). Anyway, he has asked me to add him to this cruise. He loves the NYE cruise. As for DD who kept me busy for the rest of the weekend, and was with me on the Dream last week has not asked to join. Too hard for her to project her life out two years. Looking forward to getting to know you all over the next 2 years. Wow, 2 years. It is hard to believe that I have planned vacation that far in advance.

My DH gave me the cruise deposit for Christmas. I just need to check with my in-laws to see if I am booking for them too, then I am reserving our state room. The DDs asked for the same room that we had on the Dream, so we will be booking 2016. We actually really enjoyed being near the restaurants. I debated getting a verandah for a 7-night cruise, but I am worried about smoke. Any experience with this?

What a wonderful Christmas present. I have had inside, outside and verandah. My thought has been, we are so busy and only use the room for sleeping. Last year, we were upgraded to a verandah and I loved it. Definitely not worth it for a 3 or 4 day cruise. As for the smoke. There were times, that it did bother us, and it is a shame that you pay the price and can not sit out on the verandah, but it is nice.
