We are staying at the fort Dec. 26 thru Jan. 1st. What can we expect as far as crowds and temperature? Also, are there any New Years eve celebration at the fort or any where else during this time? Thanks Kellcat:surfweb:

We will be there from the 31st till the 3rd. We don't even go into the parks. We take the boat an NYE and usually the night before to the from of the MK, the fireworks from there are the best we have ever seen. If feels like the are all around you. Check when the last boat leaves before because we almost missed the last one before the fireworks last year. The year before we took a carriage ride & they brought us around the 300 loop by the beach, I was told that it was the best, well when we discoverd the view from in front of the MK, we liked that much more, now thats all we do. Hope to meet up with you, we have a Forest River Windsong. come by and say hi. I requested the 900 loop, but never sure if that is what we are going to get. See u there.

Those days are probably the most crowded of the year. Below is the crowd in gridlock at high noon on 31 Dec 2007 between splash mtn. and Frontierland. It took us like 15min to get from where that pic was taken to Pirates. Never did one ride and just left. Sardines have more room than we did.:lmao:

As far as crowds they will be heavy, temps are hard to say I've been when jackets, hats and gloves were needed or a shirt and shorts could be worn.
Use to be the NYE party was at Pleasure Island but with it being closed, I'd say the place to go would be The Boardwalk Inn on property.

Thanks for all of the help, Lorna Duck we will see if we can meet during our stay at the fort we are so excited. Thanks so much, Kelly

Last year it was cold as crap for a few days. But as always here in florida it doesn't stay that way long. It is a fun time at the fort. Great decorations and yes it will be full. The parks will also be crowded. We always go during christmas and new years. If the weather isn't cold it will be perfect. But bring clothes for both cold and warm temps. You will have a great time there. Just get to check in early as the lines get long.

We love NYE. Last time we were at EPCOT for the day. We received much misinformation. If you want to be at a park at midnight get to that park early and DO NOT LEAVE. This year we will be at the Fort from the 24th until the 2nd. We plan on being at MK for this NYE.

See ya"ll there!

When do the crowds start to slack off some? We will be there the 1st through the 7th and I am curious when the crowds will start to taper off. Thanks.

If you're talking about Jan the crowds will slack off some the Mon after the 31st and more so when most schools go back in session. They will increase some for the marathon, but that is usually after the schools are back in session and the crowds are very reasonable. After both of these the rides are mostly walk ons.
