Okay, I am using my Mom's log in so I can find out about New Year's at Disneyworld. Has anyone been there at that time and what did you do special?

We're bringing friends along with us and we don't want to have to stay with my parents the whole time. Do most parents stay with you at the parks or resorts or do you go out on your own. We all have cellphones so it makes sense that we shouldn't have to be with them all the time.

We don't want to get stuck at a really crowded park for New Year's so we're looking for someplace for early dinner and to see the fireworks, maybe at a resort. Is there any place that teens hang out?

Can you help us with some info?

I have when I was a little girl( I was 8). It was the millenium year it was going to be the year 2000. My family woke up very early and were in line at the Epcot World Showcase Gateway at 6:00 a.m. I remember the park being shut down completely because it was filled to capicity by like 1:00 p.m. or maybe even before. It was like wall to wall people. What was really cool in the World Showcase was they had the New years countdown when each country reached it's real time. So there was a lot of celebrations. It ended with the big Illumninations show and a huge fireworks show. Also over between where Future World enters World Showcase there was a stage with some band performing. I don't really remember who it was I was with my parents the who time and my brother was only like 5 so I wasn't into music like I am now. But it was fun, but a lot of ppl.

We went New Years Eve 05 so we were there December 31 2005- January 2, 2006. When we got there on New Years Eve Magic Kingdom was full, you either had to be at a Disney hotel or have AP's. We ended up buying the AP's since we go so much anyways. But trying to get my brother's stroller through some spots in Magic was a nightmare. I think we ended up only riding one or two things because of how paked it was. But we did find a New Years Eve party back by where you meet Ariel. It was kinda cool, ( my little brother loved it but he was only 3 at the time). We didn't even stay in the park long enough to see the fireoworks because we wanted to get to our car before everyone else was trying to do the same thing.
