ok probably a dumb question, BUT what did u freeze the gingerale in?

will the full recipe fit in a punch bowl u think? i'm gonna have about 12-14 adults..

I found disposable chicken pot pie tins at the grocery store in the baking aisle with all the other disposable pans like for cakes and brownies. That's what I used to freeze it in. I made three of them (there were 6 tins in the pack) and that way we could replenish the ice during the day.

I think it should be enough for that many people if you have another drink, too, such as beer for the guys. We had about 6 people drinking from half of the recipe and there was still punch left over.

I know nothing about champagne at all. I winged it and bought Korbel Brut. This turned out well!

I love appetizer Newyear dinners! my mom used to go all out. she has 4 deep fryers and she would have all of them going at once cooking everything that a supermarket sold that could be deepfried! haha. Then she would bake pizzas at the same time, had chips dips and cookies. by the end of the night we were all in coma's from the food. (really really really unhealthy) This year she is pretty much boycotting it because i wont be able to participate (and wouldn't if i could). i just had bariatric surgery and am looking to change my life! :) So everyone, please enjoy all this delicous food for me! and hope everyone has a great new year.

if i do an appetizer party, which just came up today...

pigs in a blanket (my fave)
multiple dips
buffalo chicken dip
hummus

i need to think of more!!

All I can think of so far is

Stuffed eggs and stuffed tomatos

I want to do something with shrimps but can not figure out, any recepies, pleeeeease.:)

It's just me and my hubby and kids but I bought some steak, crab legs, fresh green beans, and rosemary potatoes to fix New Year's Eve. I'm sure there will be some yummy desert too !

Thank u

i actaully dug out a jello mold i had, so i'm going to fill that with the gingerale and float some cherrie in it as well!

New Year's Day for good luck will be pork roast, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes.

New Year's eve shrimp cocktail, cheese, bologna, & crackers, cheesecake, chips and dip, and spaghetti

NYE with DH, DD4 & DD2 we'll have NY Strip steaks, shrimp cocktail (or may do surf & turf), chips & dip, jalapeno poppers, mozz. sticks & spanikopita (can you tell I love cheese LOL).

New Year's Day, we used to go to my aunt's because it is my cousin's birthday. Now that he is grown and lives in NYC, she stopped that tradition. So we may have my parents, grandmother and aunt & uncle over for brunch. Or, have them over for lentils and sausage (which thanks to a PP I discovered is what Italians eat for the new year!) and start a new tradition!

We (me, DD21, DS12 and DS 5) will be going to Chinese buffet for New Years Eve, but for New Year's Day we are doing Fondue!

We are going to do both cheese and chocolate fondue!

Hee hee! We are on the same wavelength! We are going out for Thai at lunch. (DH works NYE)

Enjoy the fondue! Sounds fun and yummy!
