I'm trying to make our plans for what we want to do on New Year's Eve. We will be visiting Disney during the Christmas week this year. We were thinking of going to a park in the morning, leaving and seeing Hoop Dee Doo, and then going to a park. Would anyone advise againt this? Which park would you go to? There will be 14 of us, 9 of us between the ages of 25-56 and 5 between the ages of 6-20.

Thanks!!! :)

Chances of getting into MK on New Year's Eve would be next to imposible...I would suggest Epcot or MGM...We were at Epcot this year and WDW had the largest New Year's eve crowded in 12 yrs....You could tell even Epcot was difficult to move around in .....It was wonderful though...

We used Tour Guide Mike and followed it for Christmas week this past Christmas and it worked well. We went to MGM for the day and made priority seating with a Fantasmic Package for DH & I & our 5 kids ages 6-14. We were not given a choice of times to see Fantasmic as it is booked first come first serve, so we were assigned the first show. We left after that and the hoards of people coming in would not have been enjoyable for us. We still had a blast though. As other posters have said if you go to 1 park plan on staying and not leaving or there is a chance you may not be let back in.

We were at MK one year for NYE, and it was scary crowded. Several times I thought we were going to be crushed or trampled. Friends of our's went to MGM and said it was crowded but manageable.

We were there over the same time this past holiday. MK
closed early for entries and I heard MGM did too. The report
we got from others at our hotel was big crowds everywhere.
We slept in NYE day, had a brunch at the House of Blues
in DwntwnDIS, went to a movie and got Chinese take out.
I fell asleep around 8pm, DS and DH fell asleep around 10.
We were up and at MK on NYday at rope drop, by the time it
got crowded(at it WAS horribly crowded) we were done with
what we wanted to do, saw the holiday parade and left.
I hate crowds with children. FYI, the folks we had dinner with
on Dec. 30th at Teppanyaki had planned to enter MGM late;(around 4pm)they reported they were turned away.
Good luck! If I were determined to see fireworks on NYE at
WDW, I'd get a hotel room with a balcony overlooking EPCOT
or MK, open a bottle of wine and enjoy.

Thanks everyone for your responses. If anyone else has ideas, forward them along :)
