New Year's Eve chances?

We're currently booked at the BDW 12/27 & 12/28, and SSR 12/29-1/3. We are waitlisting BDW for 12/29-1/3. What do you think chances are that something will open up between now and then? And do you think we're better off keeping our 5 day waitlist, or waitlisting day by day (since we would lose our place in queue for the 5 day waitlist, but I assume rooms are more likely to show up day by day)? Right now, we're checking several times a day to see if anything shows up!

I would try to take off 1 day at a time from SSR, but I would not hold my breath. I booked a December 29 to January 1 trip for DSis at BWV, standard view, and had to wait list the 29th at 11 months out. Someone must have been walking a night because it came through the very next day. This is for a studio.

It appears that you got on the waitlist at the 7 month window or maybe after that. I know that NYE had waitlists for most everything at the BWV well before the 7 month window opened. I do nto think your chances are very good at all. At this point, I think you are lucky to have the SSR reservation that includes NYE. It's my belief that there are already quite a few 12/31 single night waitlists ahead of you and many of them are destined to be disappointed. Sorry to be the mistress of doom & gloom.

I'd do as you are doing - check a few times each day and pounce on anything that you may see that helps. I wouldn't change the 5 day waitlist.

If you still have one waitlist left (you are allowed 2), I'd waitlist 12/29 by itself for the BWV. If you get it, then waitlist 12/30. That way you won't have to move more than once.

I had booked OKW,my home resort, last year for New Years eve through 1/4, I tried waitlisting for several months at either AKV std, or BWV std, nothing ever came through at either resort. That being said, if you were quick, days would pop up and disappear once wait lists ended. The trouble is you either needed to be on the phone or have the points to make the reservation then cancel the previous one ending up with holding points.
