New Years Eve at Universal

I'm wondering if anyone knows what options are available for New Years Eve at Universal (US, IOA or Citywalk) Going to be in Orlando over the holiday and want to know what choices we have. Thanks for any help.

There is a huge party for NYE at CityWalk but I don't think the details are available yet. There's usually a big named band performing along with a buffet and special viewing area for the fireworks. Details should be released in early November.

We are also going to be at Universal on NYE this year! We arrive around noon. The Citywalk party is for adults only (over 21) so we can't do that. I have been debating between the family party at the Hard Rock Hotel which is where we are staying or just going into a park for the evening.

Do the Universal parks ever close because they reach capacity like the Disney parks do? If we don't get to the park till mid afternoon will we have trouble getting into the park??

You will have trouble getting into IOA that time of day but shouldn't have too much trouble with the Studios. HP will be at capacity most of that week which means IOA will close often.
