okay now...what's wrong with life on the farm?????? that's where i grew up....a big ole farm smack dab in IOWA.....okay that's also part of the reason i left Iowa!!!!!:lmao:

Nan...NICE photos!!! were you in Morgan Hill for those?? i was going to an appt the other day....was a little early & stopped in this hair salon (Hello Gorgeous) to pick up a new brush & in one of the chairs was a girl who looked just like Molly....i thought wow - for a girl i haven't seen other than photos that could sure be her....but i highly doubted you would be driving to Gilroy for a hair cut:confused3

tonite is the school fundraising wine / art / dinner auction...I'm SOOOOO glad it's finally here & will be finally over....after all these months of planning...i'm ready for it. Just hoping it's successful...definitely have lots of nice wine, art & other items to auction off -so it should all turn out nicely.....have a busy day tho....get to seascape by 10 for set up...hopefully finish before 2 so i can run over & catch most of DS' FB game then go back to seascape & get ready there for the 5:30 cocktail hour.....

hope you all have a nice Saturay too!!!

yup still have the growth chart, we take our pictures there too. Since kindergarden.

I know kinda funny we are so close and yet so far....

Nan, how's your cousin and her family doing? I felt SO sad when I read your post. As always, I'm sending my love.

Last night my kids and their friends stood waiting outside a video game store on Broadway until the midnight release of Guitar Hero 3. It was an fun night for them, hanging out on the street with all the other video gamer nuts! They even got poor Louise to go with them. A guitar player from Led Zepplin was supposed to make an appearance to sign guitars, but he was a no-show.

Jesse did see Antonio Banderas buying CDs in the Virgin Megastore. <<swoon>>

I'm watching the world series, hoping the Rockies do better tonight!

Hi to all!

Hi Aisling,

I talked with my cousin yesterday, very sad. The services are set for next Saturday. Paul and I are talking about going up. It's a hard call. Long drive 5+ hours. So we'd have to do at least one over night. Today I'm leaning no, but by tomorrow I may be back at yes again, I've flipped once on this already. It would really be for just my cousin that I would be there, and likely she will have to be with her kids much of the time, so I'm just thinking this isn't the right time. Maybe I'll look at going up later and then she and I can have more time together.

The other sad part of this story is that the kids have decided to have a visitation and open casket. I'm just so sad over this fact, as my cousin is very disturbed over this but is willing to do whatever the kids decide to help them thru there grief. I couldn't and wouldn't go to view. It's just not the right thing in my mind. I know everyone has their own way of dealing with grief and making choices that fit their own needs when making arrangement, so I'm not trying to critize them, just saying that isn't something that I can or would agree to do or see.

Aisling....sure Jesse's been playing GHIII all day...pretty much like Ryan???? He had preordered his from Best Buy, so we went at 9:45 to pick his up....stopping for a starbucks on the way....we were the 2nd in the store but was kind of bummed that when he preordered it, he didn't bet the "GH" strap....which was part of the reason for the preorder....i was pretty angry that they didn't have any more & the sales clerk told us he should have rec'd it when he place the pre-order...so guess they sold more preorders than they had straps.....oh well....
He's only come out of his room twice today...once to mow the lawn it was 85 degrees today....and 2nd to have dinner.....so he's loving it all. Surprised he didn't take a nap as he went to halloween party & then spent the night with a friend....

Ohhhh Nan....

Brenda, congratulations on such a successful auction! Wow, you must have very generous people around where you live! I'm so happy it went well for you and the school.:thumbsup2

Tig, I hope you have a successful Creative Memories party. I'd think about getting into that, too, since I do scrap, but I'm afraid my circle of acquaintances wouldn't be willing to shell out the money I'd need to earn a dollar. We have a ton of discount craft stores around here, and that's where everyone goes. Plus, I'm sort of shy when it comes to sales. You, on the other hand, have a great personality for dealing with people, so I know you'll be making those $$$ soon enough!

Cruise news now...I didn't tell my family, but I'm thinking of downgrading to a porthole room. Jesse's operation is going to seriously dent the budget, and I don't know if I want to carry a $10,000 debt for the two rooms. I may even consider an inside room. I already have Chad and Louise in an inside, so maybe we'll just make it two. I have to check prices, because with my luck, I'll wait too long and then the inside room will cost as much as I'm paying for the verandah!

Mel doesn't care what kind of room we stay in, but my kids will!

. I may even consider an inside room.

Nevermind that idea. A cat. 11 is already $5195 for the three of us, so we might as well keep the cat. 6. for $2000 more. No more McDonalds for the next year, and that should cover it!:rotfl:

OMG...that is crazy....they started at 3600 for inside & 3900 for porthole....

Hi Magic Matey's,

I just finished Kaz's trip report and it was wonderful. It made me want to cry. :sad1: But then again everything today makes me want to cry.

Pardon me, but I have a little, no a lot of venting to do. We were watching the news this morning and here comes a little blurb across the bottom of the screen, that a Sonoma County Sheriff was hit by a ca and has been seriously injured. My older son (Kensell) is a Sonoma County Sheriff and he works the night shift and of course I go into a panic. :scared1: I call him at least 5 times before he fianly calls me back and he is OK but his good friend Bret was the injured Sheriff. Bret is a great guy and everybody loves him. He is also a great mechanic and put a new engine in my younger sons' (Kyle) jeep and wouldn't let me pay for his labor.

Kensell was 1st at the scene and he says he had the hardest time keeping it together. He was in a Medivac unit in Iraq and because he didn't personally know the men and women he was helping he did Ok. Bret is fine. He was hit by a car going 80 miles an hour and he had to have surgery on his leg but he will be fine.

What I am so angry about  is that his wife had called Bret's parents and they were glad he was fine but they weren't going to drive 5 hours to see him. From what Kensell says Bret's parents feel that he is the black sheep in the family (WHAT ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT!!!!!) and they don't know where they stand with him. :sad2: I don't care where you think you stand with your children, they are your children and when they are almost killed you thank God and you get to their side. I can't tell you how much I wish I had their address or better yet their phone number. They would get the biggest ear full and be happy that they aren't in the same room with me. Kensell can't believe they are being this way. He has been telling people that if ihe was the injured Sheriff, I would be running cars over on the freeway and nobody better get in my way at the hospital because I would need to see my son. He's right I'm bad that way. Watch out for the hysterical Witch with a B!

I will be a cooking fool tonight. I'll be making lasagne for Bret and his wife, Kensell and of course one for home (or I would have unhappy boys at home). I am going to see Kensell tomorrow and give him the biggest hug.

Thanks for letting me vent.

I'm trying to decide if I want to join DH for a tradeshow in Orlando, Dec 6-9th.

Colleen, when are you going?

Paul would be busy most of the day so I'm thinking of what I could do with myself....:rolleyes1
