Wow, you guys really know how to make a gal feel welcome. Thanks! I'm still working my way through the thread (only got to page 3 before I had to take our younger daughter to school) but I'll catch up!:) :)

Cindy, you got me reading this thread all over again from page one! I'm up to pg. 36, and I'm going to regret it because I've done nothing in the house all morning!!!!!!!! :rotfl:
But reading all the silliness really made me laugh!

I'm going to do some cooking now, and get Jesse's room straightened up before I have to leave to pick him up from school.

Chad's 22nd birthday is coming up, Nov. 9th. I can't believe it's been a YEAR since we surprised him on his 21st with the excursion limo and the drag restaurant! I'll try to dig up some photos to share with my new cruise friends, but I have to be careful, as Chad has political aspirations, and makes me censor some things from public internet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a little intimidated to be joining such an amazing and long thread, but I just found it! We're also booked on the 2008 New Year's Eve cruise. When we booked, it seemed like forever and a day away, but just this past Sunday over dinner we were talking about how much closer it is, although we all agreed that we wished we were going THIS New Year's Eve. We took a 3-night cruise (first time cruising for all of us) and loved it so much that we had to book something else as soon as possible. We truly can't wait. So hi to all!

I am DH Cindy 43 (Dis name is Cindy18). My DS is Matt and he's 44. One DD is Samantha, 12 and the other DD is Charlotte, 10. We're from New York and we'll be early seating.

:cheer2: ****WELCOME*****:cheer2: Glad to have you on board! SOOOO looking forward to meeting you & your family!!!

Hi, everyone -- we have been booked on this cruise for quite a while, but we were also on a Med cruise and the transAtlantic westbound this summer, and planning for the PC August 2008 cruise for next year, so I doubt I will be too active on this thread until after next summer.

I am very excited about seeing the ship decorated for Christmas (a first) and celebrating NYE on the ship (a first, although many other NYEs have been spent at WDW and this year we will be at DL). Our party includes:

Julie (bellelinus)
DD Elizabeth (16! by then)
DD Katherine (14 by then)
DD Meredith (11 by then)

We will definitely participate in the fish extender group, etc. Looking forward to a great cruise!

Grim, look at posts 542 and 543 on page 37! Deja vu! :rotfl2:

Is that where Grim posts macho pictures of mortobikes and chest hair or some such in an attempt to bring testosterone to the boards??? :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Guess what I found today?

All my kayrap from the last cruise in 2005!!!

I was going thru all my christmas totes and found EVERYTHING I brought home from our cruise as tokens from our trip...the Maps, the Menus, the baggage tags, everything! I guess this is my cue to start scrapbooking our cruise huh?

Brenda, I know it's a bit close to the 30 day mark but I think my sister is going to hold my first Creative Memories demo on November 9th. I asked her to do the 2nd but am thinking one week is too close of notice to get a good turnout.

Karen, I've really been enjoying your current trip report~

It's getting me in gear to start taking care of our upcoming cruise. We don't have our passports yet so that is next on my list of must do's...after that I will start knocking $$$$ off our our cruise bill just to insure that we all get to go next December. Mom and I were talking about the chance my family cannot because of my recent layoff. She is going whether we go or not so why not get hopping on that bill now huh?

How exciting! More DISfolk onboard! :woohoo:

Hi Julie! DH, DS and myself will be over on the West Coast next summer enjoying the last Mexican Riviera cruise before you guys collect the Magic and bring her back to Port Canaveral...

Oh yeah!!! There's no way out, Tigg!!! I've got several bags of memorabilia from WDW summer 2006 and I really should scrapbook it . I'll tell you the most irritating thing - when we returned from Florida, I quickly made DH's 12 year old niece (who we took with us) a mini scrapbook of the experience. Why oh why didn't I just duplicate it for us??? I could've padded it out later!! AAARRGGHH...

...Karen, I've really been enjoying your current trip report..
Thanks, hon...

Take good care of the ship before we get on in August 2008!

If you don't have a fish extender group, I'll start one -- it's a lot of fun. Basically you hang something like a wall organizer on the little metal fish outside your stateroom door and people leave little gifts and goodies in there. For our Med cruise this summer, we signed up and ended up with an assigned day to pass out our things -- that way, you ended up with some goodies all through the trip. If you haven't already started this, sign me up and I'll start collecting names next fall . . .

As for WDW, we will likely spend a few days there after the cruise, depending on when my girls start back to school (based on other years, should be the Tuesday after New Year's). Alternatively, we could leave home for WDW on Christmas afternoon and spend a few days at WDW before the cruise . . . we were at WDW two years ago beginning on Christmas night, and it was a lot of fun to eat at Beaches and Cream and listen to Illuminations on the night of the day we had woken up to open presents!

Sounds good. Do we have one organised, guys? I'm hopeless - I never know what's going on...

My DS is determined to devour a Kitchen Sink next time he goes - we'll see... We're staying at WDW the week prior to the cruise - hoping for VWL or AKV. Sooo looking forward to seeing the resorts decorated for Christmas - it's going to be a wonderful, wonderful trip!!! :santa:

Thanks for the welcome -- I think I forgot to say that we are on late dining, and of course are from New York City.

We are going west next weekend to see if we can find where our fall went. (My fam is in the Philly area of NJ.) I think it's the last week fr the renassaince faire and DH and me really wanna go.

Cool! Nan had told us about it but I'm thinking she could use someone who's willing to make the list to help out. Nan was going to "research" Fish extending on her Med cruise next summer.

That sounds absolutely dreamy~I really wanna fly down CHristmas night...Mom's already got the room ::yes::

DH, DS and me are going to Beaches and Cream for the first time ever this next trip. DH doesn't know it but I have a mini-meet set up with a CM who works at the Beach Club and a trip reporter and his wife. (Backstagegirl, Nebo and Smidgy.)

I think if we order the kitchen sink between the three of us we may be able to finish it...report to follow upon December return ;)

I think you meant....Nan was going to tell all of us/you what it was like having Fish Extender Groups on the May Repo.....

I'm all for telling ya how it turns out on our Repo cruise, but... I for sure do not want to head this up!

bellelinus Please feel free to run with it.

back to regular discussion...

I was close...

I knew you wouldn't lead it but I know you would help.

someone else here, Kelly?, said she could help...and of course I am always willing to help.

It's too far out for me to start on any spreadsheets just yet :)

Honestly, it turns out differently, in my experience, based on how the group on the thread is . . . I would use the July 28 Med cruise as a template and do it the way they did -- basically a few months ahead of time everyone was asked if they would be interested, and every now and then an updated list of fish extender participants was posted. By about 2 weeks before the cruise, the group was set and the person in charge assigned people to different days to spread it out. Then she posted a master list of participants, their room numbers, and day to hand the gifts out. It was so fun every day to check the fish extender when coming to the room and see if something was there! On the Aug. 2007 repo cruise I found out at the port that I had been upgraded, and then it was hard for people to find me after that, but there was a (somewhat less organized) list for that one, too.

At any rate, I'll bring this up again next Sept. or early Oct. and either do it or help with it.

It's fun to watch the ceremony when someone gets a kitchen sink, but even my girls and I all together have never attempted to consume one! Post pictures if you get one . . .

You got it!

ask anybody here, if I come home with anything, it'll be pictures :)

Julie - welcome aboard:cool1: The fish extender group sounds like fun, will look forward to that next fall, and maybe keep it a secret from the rest of the family, so that they just think people are leaving us gifts:banana: My girls are going to be close in age to your daughters, Morgan will be 15 1/2 and Bailey will be 13 1/2 at the time. Glad to know they will have some friends.
