Southwest is EVIL! They get your hopes up, and then 1 MINUTE after they open the dates, they're ALL GONE! Well, I can get tickets if I pay $219 each way for my party of 5. That's $219 + $219 + $219 + $219 + $219 + $219 + $219 + $219 + $219 + $219 , and WTH I'll throw in another $219 in because with the fortune I'll be paying in airfare, another $219 just won't matter!
Has anyone heard from Aisling? I was wondering if she was affected by that power outage. I hope all is well.
Debbie, thank you for your concern. Thankfully for my family, the outage was uptown, and we live downtown. Also thankfully Chad's out of school, because he would have been stuck on the subway in the sweltering heat yesterday. I felt SO bad for all those people with no air conditioning, but especially for the people down in the subways. This was during the evening rush hour, so there were literally hundreds of thousands affected. Driving was a nightmare, with all the Con Edison trucks trying to fix the problem and blocking already crowded streets.
But OMG those poor people in Texas with the floods! I rarely watch TV, but ended up watching Paris Hilton on Larry King last night just to take my mind off all the tragedies going on.

I belong to an online group called Fantasy Fashion League, and I've been having fun with that lately. Our latest challenge/scenario is that we have to fly to Atlanta to solicit grant funding from a telecomm company. It's one day of business, and two days free before flying home. What to wear, what to bring? We have a clothing/accessories budget of $400 a month, which we can bank, and lend to other players. We each have a private website with our wardrobes, which only the moderator can access. If any players end up wearing the same thing or have the same accessories, including luggage, points get taken away, and points = money from our spending budget. So we scour the internet looking for clothes, etc. It sounds silly, but I really enjoy anticipating the next Fantasy Fashion Scenario.
Jesse had three friends spend the night here last night, and they were so well behaved; it was a delight.
Chad's in Atlantic City with Louise since last night, and I expect him home any minute now. He had a $50 budget to bet, and he's coming home with $30. Thank goodness he's not a "gambler". They go for the atmosphere and some alone time.
Mel will be going to Tennis Camp for 4th of July week, and my sisters and their families are coming down from upstate to do the 4th big time here in NYC. Wish me luck!
