Thank you.:)

Good morning friends,

Today is a happy day for me. Chad got his cap and gown for graduation yesterday, and I ironed it and have it hanging and ready for next month's graduation. He'll graduate with a degree in political science on May 21st, and then on to law school in September. In three years, we'll have a lawyer in the family! Now all we need is an automotive mechanic, and life will be perfect. My car seems to always need work, and free car engine repair would hit the spot.:thumbsup2

Jesse's birthday (15) is on Saturday, so I'm going to Costco to pick up a few things. We're going to have a small house party, and then he wants to go out with his friends.

I'll check in later, and I wish you all a great day!

What do you figure it'd be if it were just the one night?

Just the 26th possible and how many points/dollars????

Whoopsie - forgot that this was peak season, and a friday to boot. If at all possible when renting DVC points, pick Sunday - Thursday. If you stay longer than just a Friday/Saturday, the points tend to 'even out' for a reasonable weekly rate (or a bargain if you just stay Sun-Thurs nights). I didn't think about that when suggesting renting DVC. Anyway, see for yourselves (Points typically rent for between $10 and $12 each (though expect to pay $12 unless you find someone who needs to unload points). no room tax or resort fees (which can really add up)):

December 26th-27th (one night):
Beach Club Villas:
Studio: 43 points (sleeps 4)
1-Bedroom: 75 points (sleeps 4)
2-Bedroom: 106 points (sleeps 8)

December 21st - 26th (5 nights)
Beach Club Villas:
Studio: 74 points (sleeps 4)
1-Bedroom: 152 points (sleeps 4)
2-Bedroom: 196 points (sleeps 8)

December 21st - 27th (6 nights)
Beach Club Villas:
Studio: 117 points (sleeps 4)
1-Bedroom: 227 points (sleeps 4)
2-Bedroom: 302 points (sleeps 8)

BCV and BWV 'boardwalk view' are the same points. Less for a BWV standard view. There's no points difference at BCV for views.

Old Key West is the cheapest DVC resort:

December 26th-27th (one night):
Old Key West:
Studio: 36 points (sleeps 4)
1-Bedroom: 73 points (sleeps 4)
2-Bedroom: 100 points (sleeps 8)

December 21st - 26th (5 nights)
Old Key West:
Studio: 54 points (sleeps 4)
1-Bedroom: 114 points (sleeps 4)
2-Bedroom: 154 points (sleeps 8)

December 21st - 27th (6 nights)
Old Key West:
Studio: 90 points (sleeps 4)
1-Bedroom: 187 points (sleeps 4)
2-Bedroom: 254points (sleeps 8)

grim pirate:

How wonderful, Aisling! :thumbsup2 My DS, Matt, graduates this summer too. His degree is in Fine Art and Animation - he's talking about doing a Master's degree and going into teaching...

...In three years, we'll have a lawyer in the family! Now all we need is an automotive mechanic, and life will be perfect. My car seems to always need work, and free car engine repair would hit the spot.:thumbsup2
I could do with a vet in the family - we have two stupid dogs and free pet care would be a bonus... Or may be a builder as our house is falling to pieces... ;)

I was over playing with my Cali ressies...

making appointments to see Holiday product for work and looking for some new surf related beauty product for our mall store.

Congrats to Chad! He's going places...I wish him lotsa luck in his legal future!

For the one night I'm still leaning towards FT Wilderness Cabins...

At $250 for room for 6 and a kitchen it's worth a try. I'll save my future DVC experience for another trip~

I am the carpenter in my house...

Hubby is the plumber and electrician.

My son is in school for some kind of medical technician, he still hasn't decided exactly what field he wants to persue. I think Radiology is his current study.

...and now that I am caught up....

I think it's time to start composing that list~

be back soon peoples...

Let me tell you if you have a mechanic that is employed as such - the last car that gets to be worked on is your own.

But, my husband used to have a slick trick to get me to work on the car. He would call me for help & I would wind up doing the work.

Since I am no longer a mechanic - when anyone asks for help I tell them to go borrow my tools which I gave to Tigg's DH - John.

Tig, anything technical in the med/health field is an EXCELLENT chioce of career. He'd be able to get a job anywhere he wants, with a nice competitive salary, as radiology and any of the technician health jobs are booming, and will continue to boom for a long time to come. I know you're encouraging him!

Karen, free pet care sounds greeeeat! If you convince one of your kids to become a vet, maybe they'll do overseas housecalls, as Tiggie has two doggies, too!

Jill, I can hear you saying this!:rotfl2: But what I'd do is bribe you with a litlle drinkie...not for you to actually do the work, but I'd sit you down with your drinkie and you'd step by step me. See, I'm slick, too.:cool1:

making appointments to see Holiday product for work
Holiday? As in Christmas??????

Grim, I heard a rumor you're treating us all to the 10 bedroom Beach Club Villa for pre-cruise night! You get a  for that, pal!

Paul's GF (rip) was none too happy when "another" one of his granddaughters decided to enter the field of law...Seems Paul's dad (Richard) started a trend (away from being a mechanic) when he opted into law, then lots of the nieces followed suit after Uncle Dick. Paul's grandfather was a famous mechanic in town, he could fix any farm part that was broken, even if a replacement part was not availble. He could craft what was necessary to get the rigs back out and working. A very vauleable skill in the small farming town of Park River, North Dakota. We have that family joke running very deep in our family stories over here. :rotfl2:

(I on the otherhand have a nephew that is a mechanic...making his grandfather, my dad very proud :goodvibes )

No Aisling, I don't think a car is needed at FW...

I'm pretty positive they have transportation from all over like most of the Disney resorts~

And yes, May 1st I go look at the Christmas lines...

Retail stock is chosen and ordered about six months before it's needed. The holiday stuff will deliver starting around September 1st...I choose later delivery dates-it drives me NUTS when stores have Christmas stuff out before Halloween.

The only exception to what I'm ordering is it's product like shoes and clothes, as opposed to decorations and such, and isn't as obvious when I put it out for sale a little early.

WOW!:chat:

What a fun group we have! :woohoo: By the time the cruise starts we will know everything about each other. And maybe somethings we don't want to know. I have a feeling that the CM's will have their hands full with our group.

Does anybody know how long they leave the Christmans :santa: decorations up at WDW? I wouldn't want to miss those.

My older son became a Police Officer ::cop: after getting out of the Marine Corp. Same thing applies, "never a cop around when you need one." My younger son is learning to set tile so he may be of some use when he gets older

No doubt about it!

I Love these guys cause they are all just so dern loveable :grouphug:

I'm pretty sure the decos will be up before we cruise...

It's afterwards that's debate-able.

The only thing you may miss is the gingerbread house/store at the Grand Floridian. It'll still be up but I am not sure that it will be open.
