We're in the borough of Brooklyn in good old New York City.

Nan, when we transferred to Costco we still had/have access to our DCL ressie online.

Hi
Tiggerwannabe (my talented DD) & I are from NJ. We are between Camden & Trenton.

Nan, Since I want to retire in a few years & stay out of the poorhouse (& live in wonderful Orlando) the repo is not it the forseeable future.

Grim you are so clever.

Tigg, I promise to live up to not acting my age.

Lou nice to see you posting

okay you know me totally paranoid over planner type :scared: (oh yeah that's you too) :rolleyes1

Did you have it paid off when you transfered, or pay if off after and if so who did you pay to? Costco or DCL, and if Costco and you wanted to use your Disney VISA to get it for 6 months 0% interest can you? And will you take care of the rest of my lifes problems????

My DH and I are going to spend the week after the 12/27/08 cruise at WDW without the kids.
Debbie, that sounds wonderful. I would love to be able to do that, but it's back to work and school for my crew right after the cruise.

When my son was stationed down in San Diego, there were years that I went 4 & 5 times a year.
A Navy man?
My brother and sis-in-law are active duty USAF (stationed in North Dakota), as is my 23 year old nephew (stationed in Germany), 2 brothers-in-law AF and Navy but both now out of the service and in civil service jobs, and who else...oh my sis was Army, and is now in active reserve in Rome, NY. And my son Chad was AF ROTC, but decided it wasn't for him. Phew!

About transferring to AAA and getting OBC, I don't have any info on that, but if you ask on the other board, I'm sure someone can help.

Hi Jill!!! Have you been riding your trike lately? The weather is getting nice for it, I think.:thumbsup2

Let me read this a few more times, and I'll get right back to you!

Ok,

I booked through DCL online. After a few weeks, I called Costco and they took over the ressie. I kept the same #, same rooms, same everything. I became entitled to a big fat Costco gift card. I was not paid in full, only had the downs paid. When it comes time to pay the balance, I will call Costco and make the payment through them. I may pay a few months early this time so to get my Disney Visa points. You get 6 months 0% interest when you use the card, and a $25 stateroom credit per room.

It's really very easy, and Costco is trustworthy.

Anything else I can help you with, dahling?

Miss Piper....I did a little ebay shopping for you tonight....I hope my ebay seller will ship directly to you so it can arrive quickly (not that you will need it so quickly). I just had to tell you that I got something...it's so cute.

(for the rest of you run over to the west bound repo thread I posted a picture of it there)

Dede, John...stay away!!!

Nan, you got her a go-kart?????????

Why not Minot.

I actually paid a classmate of mine $500 to trade me Minot AFB for Carswell AFB (Texas) in AF tech school. Man I bet he was kicking himself for the next 3 years....

Jill, did you just say we can come and visit you in Orlando when you retire???? Man I can not only read between the lines but write between them too. I'm just giving ya grief about coming, believe me Paul would be much happier if I made a deposit into an IRA rather than this cruise, but alas, I'm living for today right now.

too fabulous for words. THe only last thing is that you need to cruise before you get the gift card right? I'd love to have that card to use towards a hot tub :dance3:

I did not buy her a go-kart, although I bet Paul would love to pass his down to her (he already has the next one being built)...don't tell me you really didn't see what I bought, it was cute huh?:cheer2:

We have the same problem, with my Stepson but he is old enough to fly back on his own and his mother will pick him up at the airport. We had all of the kids with us at WDW the week before our honeymoon cruise. We got married at the Sheraton Vistana Resort on February 14th.

There was a time that I could drag their little butts out of bed to be at the parks when they opened. Good luck doing that now!!!! We didn't get to the parks till 11am and they closed (depending on the park), by 7pm. Needless to say, I didn't get to do or ride everything. To top that off, they were all to tired to go out at night so I didn't get to Jelly Rolls or the Dance Hall down on the Boardwalk. I could have left them all but I didn't want to go alone and we only had 2 cars for 15 of us.

My older son was a Marine and served 2 tours in Iraq. He is now out and Is a Sheriff in Sonoma County. I don't know why he couldn't have found a job where guns aren't involved!!!!!!!! My Husband had heard that 2 Sonoma County Sheriff were wounded yesturday at 8:30am. My son works till 7am (graveyard shift) unless he is working OT. So it's possible he could have been involved. Of course, being the loving mother that I am, I kept calling his # till I woke him out of a deep sleep to make sure he was OK. I then proceeded to lecture him about calling me (like he did when he knew I would here something about his unit while in Iraq). He's a smart man and said "yes mom, I love you" and then he went back to sleep. Needless to say, I am very proud of him. My boys have given my a lot of grey hair. Count me in as a red head. The Miss Clairol kind, but still red.

I have written a novel. I better get back to work.

Have a good day all.

After reading your mini-novel, I cannot wait to meet you!

Looks like we are going to have another FAHBULOUS crew for our next sailing!

We got rediculously lucky with our 2005 crew, Mom cruised with DISers the year before our trip and didn't have half the fun we had on ours...

For those who weren't there...

We all met up on deck 10 for sail away, a North Jersey DISer friend and her husband made us some awesome matching long sleeve t's so we knew each other right away. We had a mini swap meet in the promenade lounge before the drill too. Nan and I took a walk around to get our cruising beer mugs and met the Captain in the gift shop-All in one afternoon~

Here is the link to my photobucket for those who'd like to see pictures of all of us

It absolutely counts to me!. Actually, you started out as a Navy brat. When we were stationed in Calif. that was the Navy. When I went to the reserves then the Guard - then you became Army brats.:goodvibes

I LOVE YOU NAN!

;)  (we need a smilie of three hugging for you Aisling and Me-In the poorhouse-together)

:dance3: this is us isn't it???? we are dancing our way there or to the spa/salon either way we'll be broke when we're done! :lmao:

Yup - 1988 - 1991. Worked on B-52s.

Good group... Chicken and I have a little song by them...you may have heard it "Love Shack" yes we did have it as our first song at our wedding. Remember the Smash mouth pictures??? the guitar player in SM played in a local band The Gents who played their last gig at our wedding. We often hung out at the bar they played at early in our relationship where we coined "Love Shack" as our song. Now back to the regulary scheduled program

Hi All,

My boys are Army Brats. My eldest was born in Germany and the youngest in San Antonio Texas. I happy that they were young when their dad and I divorced. I can't imagine pulling them out of school every 3 or 4 years. They grew up with the same friends that they still have.

My office is sending packages to Service personel in Iraq that don't get packages or letters. This is the 1st time since my son returned 2 years ago that I have done something like that. It's a good thing I have my own office because I was crying. I'm happy I did it but those emotions just came right back.

I was looking on the DCL web page to see if they have a Military Discount and they do but it is for Active Duty only. It would be nice if they would change that to include Reservists and retired as well. My son is in the reserves and my cousin is in the Army Reserves and was in Afganistan & Iraq.

I was looking at excursions for the Western cruise and there are a few that would be nice. Any suggestions?? Also if you were to skip going into port which port would you skip? I love spending time on the ship but don't want to miss something fantastic as well.
