New Years Eve 2007 advice

I have the following questions and am hoping some of you can help me out.
I know it will be very crowded. I am wondering if a dinner package for Fantasmic or Illuminations would help secure a place to sit. Do these apply to the 90 days before rule to advance reserve, or are they probably all reserved at this point?
Also, I've read that once the park is full they won't let anyone in and others say once it is full they will still let resort guests in. Which is accurate? I would think they'd have to stop people coming in at some point. If you had a dinner reservation they would let you in for that right?
We are trying to decide on coming in on the 31st or waiting until the 1st.
Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated!

I believe the 90 day rule is actually 180 days nowfor all restaurants except for a few. That was one of the reasons that my mom and I decided not to go this year, we found out it had switched to 180 after the date that reservations began. Also, the parks "fill" to capacity in stages (or atleast that's how they did it in Cali), where first they stop offsite guests from entering for the first time that day(not returning to the park later in the day that is), then offsite guests who are re-entering, then the same for onsite guests and then no one else gets in because the fire marshall says that no more people can come in. That was how I understood it atleast. If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me lol!

ETA: As far as I know, once the fire marshall says the park is at final capacity, no one gets in, regardless of reservations, etc. When I went to California for new years (and my birthday on new years eve!) I was told by quite a few people that even though my mom had payed just over $100 for the Fantasmic balcony, if the park was filled to final capacity and we weren't in it, we weren't getting in and our Fantasmic seats would not be refunded.

So if you want to be there on new years eve, I would be prepared to get there either at or very close to opening and plan on staying there for the day.
