New Years 2020

Hello All! I was curious on what our thoughts are about spending New Years at Walt Disney World. I hear this is a very busy time there but with attendance patterns lately, I was wondering that is still going to be the case. Thoughts?

That is the absolute busiest time of the year. Nothing else even comes close

Not for the faint of heart or first time visitor. Go with an open mind, sense of adventure and plenty of stamina. I had a great time. I wouldn't do it again.

We have done it 4 years in a row... Hollywood Studios, Epcot, MK, and again Epcot. We absolutely love it.

It does help if you are a bit of a veteran and know what you are getting into but is easily manageable if staying on property, especially with access to the parks via walking or boat. Buses and driving can be a nightmare.

MK is the most crowded on NYE, Epcot is the most fun for adults and because of the size handles crowds better. Looks as if all 4 parks will be open through midnight on NYE this year. Do note MK has NYE fireworks on the 30th as well and many do MK on the 30th and Epcot on the 31st.

DH AND I really enjoy fireworks and NYE ( and the 30th In MK) are some of the best!
In MK the countdown appears in the sky!

We’ve done 12/31 and the few days before/after the last two years.

I struggle with advice on the topic. On one hand, I consider it to be just about the most fun we have all year. There is a special / exciting vibe that is hard to explain all around property. The weather is often quite pleasant (although can be cold)

But we’re also AP’s who go a few times a year, don’t have to do a bunch of rides, and generally know how to navigate the park

well... which I do think on some level helps out quite a bit on these crazy days.

I like the advice above about an open mind and sense of adventure!
