YEAH!! I recently made my reservations for Dec. 27th- Jan. 3rd @ Beach Club! :D
... and I understand that this is a really busy time at WDW.

???? Therefore- when should I start making priority seating for dining??? We are a large group (3 kids/6 adults) and don't want to be stuck with counter service for the whole week!

Is there anyplace to look that will let me know how early I can book priority seating ressies? Also, when do they let you know the dates for MVMCP? I don't want to miss out on that....

It is only February and I'm getting excited about planning our first NEW YEAR'S at WDW! :)

Thanks in advance for your help! :):D

Thanks for the info- the calendar is great!

ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHERE TO EAT FOR NEW YEAR'S EVE???

On New Year's eve we had dinner at the Flying Fish Cafe on the Boardwalk. We were staying in the Boardwalk Villas. This proved to be a good choice because it poured with rain on New Year's eve and this way we didn't have to get soaked.

We just made our reservation for next New Year's at the Beach Club Villas (12/28 to 1/5) and are thinking about LeCellier in Canada. We figure it can't rain two years in a row! It will be easy to get in and out through the International Gateway entrance. We will probably be bumping into each other (along with the 50,000 or so other people)

The last MVMCP is usually around 12/20. They run extended hours at MK after that with the Christmas Parade in the afternoon and the Christmas shows during regular park hours. I would try to see the Candlelight Processional with the dining package.

For New Year's Eve it depends on where you want to be?! What park? Or do you want to be at Pleasure Island? Or???

ReneeDisney,
Generally MVMC parties are over a few days before Christmas (because they have to close the MK down to all other guests at around 6pm, and they don't generally do that during peak demand periods).

You may be able to take advantage of the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT. They usually offer a dining package which includes priority seating at the CP. They had the last CP was on Dec 30th this past year (2002).

On your New Years Dining Ressies--here is something that I learned from this past New Years Eve experience. Pick a park and go there early. Make your ressies for lunch and dinner at the same park. Because we were staying at Beach Club Villas, we decided to go to EPCOT for dinner. Our mistake was making ressies for the Brown Derby for lunch at MGM. It all turned out okay in the end because EPCOT did not reach capacity (probably because of the rain that was forecast). But we were told that if EPCOT reached capacity in the afternoon, we would not be let in even though we were resort guests with annual passes and priority seatings at an EPCOT restuarant. Added to my angst, was the fact that we had to give a credit card guarantee for no shows of $10.00 per person. I asked a CM at the World showcase entrance about the credit card guarantee when I was trying to figure out what we should do (on Dec 30th--did I mention no changes to the ressies within 48hours?) and she said if we were not allowed in, we should call Disney Dining and explain (oh yay!)... As I mentioned before, it was a happy ending, but I wouldn't do that again.

In regards as to where to eat, did you know that along World Showcase New Years is celebrated according to what time it turns midnight in the country? Example: New Years was celebrated in Germany, Italy and France at 6pm and the UK and Moroco were 7pm. Then, there was a special Illuminations at 7:30pm (I missed it--it had started to rain at 7PM). We found all the rides were open, too. (Except for Test Track that had a rain delay). Because New Years started at 6PM, CM's handed out hats and noise makers before 6pm.
