New World of Dreams VIP tour

I work at a venue that has numerous celebrities / VIPs visit who could afford 12k but none of them are ever charged, their entire party is comped. So I don't think that is the target audience for this type of experience.
This is Disney. Unless they are a Disney star, I'd lay money they are charging.

Perhaps but since we are in the social media age companies, even Disney are looking for celebrities to mention something on their IG or other accounts. It's all about the influencers...celebrities, bloggers etc.

From friends I have that worked at Disney I've been always told that Disney's policy is not to "comp" anything for celebrities/VIPs. I was told they have to pay for themselves, though I've heard stories that they don't pay but rather a studio or manager may cover the bill. I mean Disney doesn't need them to sell their business so I wouldn't be too surprised if this was actually true.

I'd rather put that $12K towards my down payment/closing costs for a Tuscan villa at Golden Oaks! :rolleyes1

I don’t think it the social media influencers as much as people with a lot of money - executives, bankers, lawyers, etc .... obviously it isn’t something most people can do but there are quite a few people with money that if you tell them “his is the best” they will spend it without blow bling

Yeah, I was thinking their manager or whatever would just handle it along with all the other stuff they spend money on - not looking me they are going to go through an itemized bill at checkout themselves - just get grouped in with the rest of “expenses”

I think people are underestimating who would choose to do this. As several people mentioned you can break this down to $2,000 per person. While still a lot of money that is much more attainable for a group of adults.

The WWE ran several tours of their training facility in Orlando. Those cost $1,500 and I can guarantee those weren’t executives and 1%ers.

$2,000 per is something I think a large number of younger, single adults or couples without children could save up for.

Great point. If a Kardashian can be paid $250K just to write a two line Instagram post about a product, there's no way Disney is charging celebs.

The more and more people find ways to “justify” things like this, or “see how people would do it”, means more and more upgrades will be offered. I know my response isn’t going to be popular, but it is what it is. All this does is cause increases throughout the property. The more people willing to pay for things like this, the more justification that Disney has to raise prices on everything more and more. When that happens, more and more families are pushed out. I get it, those people are more than ok with pushing us out.

I’m so disgusted with the direction things are going. I’m here because I’m a Disney nut and love traveling to Disney. I can tell you I’ve spent my afternoon pricing out Camper and Truck rentals, along with flights to other parts of the country for our 2020 vacation. I’m finding other things to move "valuable" in price than a Disney vacation, and I’m starting to wonder if I’m being fair to my kids by not making memories in other ways besides Disney with them. We spend too much time “plugged in”, including at Disney, that an “unplugged” trip to our national parks might be in the cards.

Rambling rant over.

For what it's worth, we just bought an RV. Best thing we ever did. Great family memories in the first year.
We still like to go to Disney.
No matter what your initial math might suggest, RV's aren't a cheap solution. ;) I love ours, but they aint free.
I do think there is a point where you can over do it with disney.

As a semi related topic. There is a RV rental company that has a location in Orlando. They sell their retired rentals, and they will pay your airfare to come get it. We very nearly did that, with working in our first camp at ft wilderness. Unfortunately, it didn't quite work, we ended up buying from the same company at a Virginia location.

Thanks for the info.

I've done quite a bit of camping (both tent and trailer camping), its not something my wife has really been interested in. We did the Charlotte RV show recently and I think she's finally got the bug. We're a few years off from purchasing one, but one way to see if this is something she wants to do, i suggested we rent one for a weekend or two and see how it goes.

We spend a lot of money on Disney vacations, and if RV traveling is something we decide we like, we may be moving a portion of that disney vacation money over to something else.

The Fort is a bucket list trip for me, i did it as a child and have some great memories of it.

I'm going to check out that RV Rental place in Orlando.

If you are looking into an RV Tampa (Really Senffer just east of Tampa) has one of the biggest RV stores in the country ( lazy days) they have an RV show every January ( like the first weekend or second weekend) If your in the area it is an hour drive to Disney.
