Last night we did the AG dining for WOC for the 9PM show and it appears they have changed once again the queueing method. When I get time I will get it all diagrammed but for those new to WOC please see my WOC Superthread

"World of Color Superthread" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=37986447

We did the dining package in late June and a lot has changed since then in the way of queueing. I asked lots of questions and took quite a few pictures which i will get posted as soon as I can. Being at the parks this week is taking a priority of course to updating the WOC thread. :)

The CMs told me that they implemented a much needed new approach a couple weeks ago.

1. All of Red queues by the Golden Zephyr ride.

2. All of Blue lines up by the red obelisk tower in front of LMAUA

3. Yellow can line up in either place but I think the Golden Zephyr location will get you closesy

Note that the normal FP queues had folks lined up 90 minutes before the show (at 7:30). My recommendation to line up 90 minutes early remains.

4. At 8AM they started to take the different color sections in an orderly way to their viewing areas.

5. After they cleared Blue and Yellow out of the red obelisk area they started a line for Preferred Dining/Viewing right after 8PM. They set up ropes and barriers to enforce this line and there were zero line jumpers that I saw. Many Preferred folks were hanging around the area before 8PM and as soon as Blue and Yellow were gone they formed a line. We were the third group in that line.

6. The area at the Preferred Dining railing is still open for the PD people, but also the "wet zone" area down below the railing was open only for PD. This used to be a Yellow section area. Now it is only PD and Yellow is allowed into the circle behind the PD railing spot (see the photo in my Superthread)

We got a perfect spot on the railing and this spot remains my favorite viewing spot - albeit the most expensive!

I will get all of this diagrammed in a few days and update the Superthread.

Oh, and WOC totally rocked! ::yes:: Again. I and DS16 agree WOC is by far the best Disney show at DLR. :cloud9:

So you mention that if Yellow waits in the queue with Red they get closer. Does this mean Red/Yellow enters before Blue/Yellow?

Thanks Hydroguy.

We're doing Ariel's WOC for the first time ever on Friday night. Hopefully we'll get it figured out right.

They don't wait in the same queue. There is a single queue for blue. Two queues for yellow. One by LM and one by GZ. Since GZ is closer to the yellow section entry point then that is better for yellow IMO.

I can second this. My DD and friends waited in the yellow queue by LM almost in the front of the line. They didn't realize that there was another line and by the time they got to the yellow entrance, they weren't "in front" anymore. They did manage to get a rail position in the upper section but they really wanted to get as close to the "wet" zone as possible.

So there are two queues parallel, for the two colors? RY or YB?

So wouldn't that mean the group by the Zephyr is coming into the area from the west. And the group from the LM side the east. Does that mean the later group ends up closer to the center line of the show?

Not physically parallel but conceptually parallel yes.

I do not know how many entry points there are for yellow. I thought there was only one nearer the Zephyr which gives the Zephyr yellow line the advantage. However they are letting yellow FPs into the center circle which used to be Preferred Dining. Not sure if these folks have to make their way all the way from the western entrance or if there is a dual entrance. If there is a second entrance then the eastern yellow queue would a better shot at the more central areas.

On Monday night when I met my DD and friends, there was only one yellow entrance, I'm guessing the one by the Golden Zephyr as I had to walk toward the Yellow globes passing people lined up in front of LM in the non-FP section. We entered where the yellow arrow is on Disneyland1951's new diagram. We met at the entrance and we turned left to the upper section.
