What's up with Barbossa liking apples? I never understood that...

He could not enjoy the taste of apples while he was cursed. They didn't need food or drink so when they did eat or drink there was no flavor or anything. So he was kind of obsessed with, once the curse was removed, enjoying a sweet juicy apple.
