New with a borrowing points question

Hey - As we're new, my dh and I are trying to figure this out. Say we wanted to take a big vacation in 2011 - using the 40 points we'll have banked from this year, the 100 from next year, and borrowing 100 from 2012. Could we then borrow points in 2012 from 2013? Thanks!

Yes.

Yes, as long as your trip begins on or after the first day of your use year, e.g., if June use year, you can borrow from June 2013 for trip in June 2012 but not for trip in May 2012.

Thanks for the answers. Our UY is April, and at the moment this is all hypothetical. I really just want to try and understand it better. However, if we did do a big trip like that it would probably be in May.

If your 2012 trip is in May 2012, then yes, you would be able to borrow 2013 points for that trip.

Sometimes people do get confused as it is based on UY and not calendar year. For example, I have a June UY so almost 1/2 of my UY takes place in the next calendar year.

So, for me, I would not be able to use 2013 UY points to travel in May 2012. I could only borrow those points if my travel is after June 1st, 2012
