New Wishes fp+ Viewing Area

FWIW, people who have asked about the sitting/standing situation, I was at MK last night for Wishes in a non FP area, and just before Celebrate The Magic started, the CMs had all the guests stand up.
Don't know if this is the norm, but I've never seen it happen before in my experience.

This is the new norm, according to all recent reports.

What are you trying to prove? Jade already said:

She can only speak about her experience the first week of March. LT had similar experience the second week of March, but not the third. Just because LT had a differing experience on his second week, doesn't negate his experience during his first, or even negate Jade's experience.

I, for one, love Jade's posts, I find them very informative, and hope she continues to document the rest of her trips. ::yes::
Thanks so much. And thanks for getting what I apparently have a hard time explaining.

It's really weird actually. Most guests come on here and say what happened on their trip. It's generally believed, often questioned which is fine, but you go out of your way to not even preplann to test the system, hit the parks in the AM (which most on here know we never do) document it with pics, and you have to be making this all up.
I never questioned your experience. But you were saying that Laketravis had the same experience as you. All I did was quote exactly what Laketravis said which IMO was somewhat different than your experience.

I understand what you're saying- you and LT pretty much agreed on the conditions for the week you had in common. It seems pretty simple to get. I think it's probably the results you got that are at issue, not your credibility.

And thanks for the updates and pics- I find them quite helpful- a picture is worth a thousand words ya know...;)

Oh nice, thanks.

Like I said-I would recommend preplanning FP+. That week (and I assume many slower weeks) would be very available even the night before-but why wait.

We just wanted to test each park without any-completely spontaneous.

They were letting people into the FP+ viewing area 2 hours before the start of Wishes.

I was on a solo trip (conference at the CR) so it was a park visit purely for photography. I got to the viewing area about an hour and a half prior to Wishes and saw a group of 3 people inside relaxing on the astro turf. I chatted with the CM and asked her how busy they expected to be this night. She said they expected to be busy tonight so I should get in early to get my tripod setup at a nice spot. I got in and scouted the area. I was looking for a spot where the light posts weren't in the way and you could get an unobstructed view of the castle. I found the perfect spot behind the bush that was closer to Main Street.

The area slowly filled up in the next hour but it was not as bad as expected. Since I was behind the bush no one stood or sat in front of the tripod. Most of the people around me were sitting on the astro turf. There were a few people standing by the rear railings. Definitely much better than setting up in the middle of Main Street.

Do you happen to know if RE-entry is permitted? Trying to envision when we should arrive for our window and whether if someone needed to go to the bathroom, for example, if they would be permitted back in. And how a CM would know that they didn't just hand off a MB.

Good question- would love to know the answer to this.

Just like the one of the huge line at the FP+ kiosk that LT posted during his second week? I completely agree. ;) I find pictures wonderful.

Apparently a picture is worth a thousand words only if it has a positive message. I had been following that thread and the same posters who don't understand why someone's experience isn't taken at its word are the same posters who will immediately dismiss any negative reports.

I have no problem believing both. There are busy times, and there are not so busy times. I don't think it's accurate for anyone to imply that the conditions they experienced during not-so-busy times would be applicable all the time, and vice-versa for those who experienced something completely different during busy times.

There was a family of 4 near my spot. After the dad got everyone settled down on the astro turf I saw him go out of the area. He came back some time later with some hotdogs from Casey's, so I guess re-entry is permitted.

Good to know. Thanks for the report. I wonder how that is monitored.

I don't see any clarification in the following that this was for one of the slowest times of the year. It could lead people to believe this is the case most of the time.

But if I "had" planned ahead-I would not have been able to "TEST" in park availability.

My goal was to see what was available if guests were to just wake up, pick a park, walk in to a kiosk and pick 3 FP+.

Even we had no expectations on what would be available.

And certainly did not expect every single headliner to be available-but they were.

Were you in the FP area when the MSEP went by? Wondering if you can get a decent view of the parade from this spot? Haven't seen the area in person so having trouble picturing the set up. Thx!

That was responding to about 3 pages of discussion and explaining why I did it:

And the pics have the date on them.

Just got back after two weeks and the first week FP availability was pretty good, even same day - and SB waits were nice and low for many attractions.

Sound familiar?

And that was the week after mine.

Yes-I have never compared other weeks.

I have never even said you shouldn't plan ahead-even the first week of March.

Again-first week of March is my report for "in park" availability. Even the next week is backed up by LT. Nothing more.

It does for the week I presented.

Oh nice, thanks.

The view of MSEP from this spot is not ideal. The sidewalk crowds on main Street plus the other people inside the viewing area will obstruct the views of all but the top half of the floats.

Bummer, thanks for the response!

HaHa:

Here is your response to LT's pic:

And that picture of the kiosk line? Wow. Post $53

Here is your response to mine:

That looks like the kiosk location in FW at Epcot. They can be pretty hard to find and by 6pm in the evening I'm guessing most people have figured out what's left and what isn't. Post #103

Apparently a picture is worth a thousand words only if it has NEGATIVE message. I had been following that thread and the same posters who don't understand why someone's experience isn't taken at its word are the same posters who will immediately dismiss any POSITIVE reports..

I think you had it backwards-switched it for you.

The "negative" pic was worth a thousand words to you, the "positive" pic was dismissed by you.
