NEW Wilderness Lodge FAQ!!

Hello all - I just booked WL at the code rate of $139/night for a standard room. My question is I've requested a non-smoking King room. The CRO agent said of course that this would be based upon availability. Does anyone know what my chances are of getting this kind of room? I wonder how many there are? Also, should I make any additional room request as far as getting the best location? Thanks.

...that you'd prefer "non-smoking" to the "king-size" bed. So, I would request the North Wing/ king bed.....

I am looking into booking a deluxe room in the WL and was wondering if this class of room includes access to the Concierge lounge?? Also has anyone stayed in this type of room??? Thank you.

We stayed in a deluxe room (jr. suite) in December. It does not include access to concierge. But I absolutely loved the room (4166). Had a great view of the lake (just above the beach), and the geyser. Loved having two rooms, perfect when the little one was sleeping and I wasn't.

...I PM'ed you!;)

errrr, you can't be PM'ed!!! Check out Community Board (especially Congratulations and Birthday Wishes!;) )

There are many more non smoking rooms than there are king bed rooms. From what I know all the king beds are in rooms for individuals with handicaps. We stayed at the lodge for the first time for our honeymoon (99) and didnt know that so I just wanted to make sure you know in advance. The only real differnce is that you dont get a tub you get a big walk in shower

When we stayed in 12-2002 we had concierge so we had a king bed. But that is a different story!!

Okay, well it sounds like I might want to call CRO and change my room preference to non-smoking, two beds. We don't want the handicap room. When I do this, are there any rooms that I might wish to ask for so that we don't end up looking out on trash cans and the like? What about the roome opening up on the lobby, are any of these standard rooms?

...there are standard rooms available that open up to the lobby. Remember that they are North Wing and they may overlook the parking/employee area below. However, ask for a higher floor and you shouldn't have a problem. (you also will probably get a MK view, too, which isn't a bad thing! )

I PLAN to include the WL in our plans! So...Kimmar (Oh Swammee...oh fierce Leader of the WL crew, not to mention 3 DS's), you'll have to start helping me obtain the BEST views, BEST accomodations, at the BEST rate. Would I settle for anything less? LOL. Would it behoove me to go via the route of the DVC points? Are there any "free upgrades" available...or do I have to pay/confirm the exact accomdations we desire? :p You can tell...I'm used to getting MORE for LESS! HeHe...;)

...DF99, you are venturing out to our "neck 'o de woods", eh??? Well, you posi-lutely, absol-tively MUST DO CONCIERGE!!! I'll give you more pointers later.....(just remember: be prepared to RELAX!!!!!!:D )

I was just looking at a picture of the front of the WL and noticed some rooms on the east side over the lobby. How are these rooms? I know they don't face the side of the MK, but that is fine with me. Are these Standard rooms I'm seeing - they look like they might be on the 4th and 5th floors? Are there any service areas under them? Thanks for your help.

I am looking into booking a concierge room at the WL and was wondering if anyone has ever used a discount code for this class of room and what they paid in regular season. Thanks

Now...that's what I'M TALKIN' 'BOUT! OLD-FASHIONED "R & R"..LOL! I definitely want Concierge...and will go directly through YOU for all the details/advice. I'll keep you apprised of the planning, as I get closer to the summer. Thanks, Kimmar! You're the BEST!!;) :sunny:

We are planning a trip the 1st week of June. I was planning on asking for an inner courtyard room, perhaps on 4th or 5th floors where we could sit on our balcony and see/hear the Silver Creek Falls and view the pool, geyser and Bay lake. Was wondering if it were better to stay on the north side or south side. It's hard to tell from the map and pic's which has the best unobstructed view.

Then I read where some rooms overlook what I want and open to the lobby on the inside...rooms like 5071 and 5073, but it seems like they would be a little far away to hear the falls from our balcony or have a really good view of them. We have no kids and view is our #1 priority.

Lastly, is it REALLY possible to pay for a concierge upgrade and have key access to the 7th floor, but stay elsewhere in th lodge with the views I'm wanting? HELP!

I originally posted this elsewhere, but found this is the proper place to ask about WL, so here it is again. I'm new at this and just registered, so do forgive me...

Has anyone ever "prearranged"( at an additional cost) concierge access w/ a deluxe room. If it can be prearranged that would be perfect

Keith-
I believe the South wing would have a little less of an obstructed view of the pool/geyser/lake. Its a little closer to the pool and not as many trees as the North Wing.

I am not sure about your Concierge question though.

....long time no HEAR!!!:D And, how come you don't have "WL Vet" on your siggie:mad: (LOL) ??!?!?!

We just got our confirmation paperwork in the mail for our May trip and it says Woodlands view. Is there a difference between Woodland or Woods view? Or is this the CRO term for the same thing? Thanks in advance all.
