NEW Wilderness Lodge FAQ!!

We checked in last Saturday about 6:00 and walked straight up and checked in with no wait. I had already booked a courtyard view ($224) and asked for a concierge level upgrade. We got this for an extra $35 per night and it was well worth it. Our room that had been assigned to us on the 5th floor (5025) was perfect so we kept it and just added conceirge accesibilty to the room. So our keys allowed us to get to the 7th floor and we used the concierge for a couple PS's. The water parade never bothered us or woke anyone up. I think room 5021 would be perfect because you could see the waterfall a little better than we could. I don't know if it has bunk beds though and 5025 did and that worked out great for our 7 and 4 year old daughters.

The $35 concierge upgrade was a bargain. The continental breakfast alone made it worth it. No lines, nice pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, juice, coffee (to go cups and trays too). We also had lunch/dinner there a few days. At various times we had buffalo chili, tomato basil soup, shrimp in a soup thing with HUGE fresh shrimp and crustless pb&j sandwiches, fresh veggies/dip, grest cheeses and crackers every day. We had soft drinks and saran wrapped apples to take with us to the pool in the afternoon. Wine and desserts in the afternoon and cordials and more desserts at night. We never once went to the snack bar and never bought the all you can drink cup because we had all we wanted on 7. I only went to a vending machine once for a soft drink because it was after 10 o clock and 7 was closed. You can also see the MK firworks from the windows at the end of the hall on 7.

Yesterday morning we got to be Flag family. It was a lot of fun even though it was hazy/foggy and we couldn't see everything. We used the express checkout so no lines in the morning. It was a perfect trip.

If anyone has any questions please email me.

....sounds like you had a WONDERFUL time, and the extra $$$ for concierge was WELL WORTH IT!! (hey, even your user name is appropriate for the WL ~ heh-heh!;) )

BTW ~ Jungle VIP, there are two rooms fitting your description (I am trying the find out on which floor they are located.... :D )

My Son-in-law just told me today that he has booked the family in concierge at the WL for 10 nights in June. We will need two (preferably adjoining) rooms. Can anyone tell me what concierge rooms you can see the fireworks from. Or even what view. My husband and I were to go on the Disney Magic April 5. 2003. He passed away in January so I think my daughter and Son-in-law are doing this for me to take my mind off of things. I know they want this to be very special. So do I. Magic Kingdom view would be great. Thanks for your help!

Did you ask for the upgrade to concierge or did they offer it? We are booked into a std March 26-April 2 and hoping for the 35.00 upgrade!!

We often stay at PO and have the "Sassagoula Pizza Company" make a delivery to the room at some point. Usually to end a quiet "Resort Day". Is there a similiar arrangement at WL? How is it?

...what you are talking about;) ! (the Sassagoula pizza was terrific!) I believe that WL offers pizza-delivery, but it is definitely NOT CHEAP! (you can look search the beginning of this thread...I believe back in May-June 2002 a DIS'er visited WL with her sisters and posted about a "pizza story".....)

I saw pizza boxes sitting on the trash cans by the elevators several mornings so people were getting pizza somehow. We never ordered it so I don't know any specifics.

I asked for the upgrade. I don't know if they would have offered because I never gave them the opportunity.

Bet this sounds Goofy, but how do I search just this thread? I have run a "Resorts" search for this topic of Pizza but got all the resorts info on it...

Artemus

....no, it doesn't sound "GOOFY" at all! Actually, I have been trying to find the time to set up a "table of contents" of sorts, so that readers looking to find an answer to a specific question can just "jump" to a specific page number. Until then, grab a HUGE cup'o'joe, settle in, and be prepared to READ, READ, READ!!!

Okay. Kimmar and gang!! 100 pages+ on here since I last visited!

We are going back April 25-30th and probably can do 3 WL nites after our Marriott Residence Inn promo! Was thinking of even trying to rent WLV points but the seasons aren't clear for point numbers needed - it's kinda between seasons.

I will be calling for my AP rate and HOPING it isn't too bad - otherwise - sob/sob - back to POR for us!!!!

WL is THE BEST!!!!!!!!Love the shamrocks, kimmar and great to see you!!!

...North Easterner! It seems like only days ago that we were conversing about our upcoming trip to WL and now, look ~ it's a year later!! Good to hear from you too!:p

BTW ~ I think it's so KEWL that you are going back again.....(green with envy!;) )

..bump!;)

My prayers go out to all the BRAVE men and women fighting for the freedom of America and THE WORLD!

....for a moment, but I've heard rumors that the "Tag Fairies have been lurking in these here parts" and I needed a T-- F---- band-aid on my boo-boo!

Oh, GREAT ONES ~ help fix my "location", help fix my "location", help fix my "location".......

We tried the pizza at WL this December and found it to be great. We did not have it delivered though. We went down to Roaring Forks. Bear in mind, LOL, that we are from Texas and really miss good Pizza so anything not resembling cardboard Pizza we find here is a treat...LOl.Seriously. It was quite good.

OOOH, I would love some color too, I would love some color too!

Please, please, please!!!

We had pizza and fried chicken from room service one night when we stayed there a few years back and we thought it was one of the best meals of the vacation. For the amount they give you we thought it was one of the best values for the usually expensive Disney restaurants

Lou-Ann,

I figured someone would have tried it. Thanks for the "review"

Artemus

...sorry it took so long to get back to you about the connecting rooms. There is ONE pair of rooms available that would suit your needs. They are 5th floor woods view, and you can see MK over the trees. They are lobby rooms, so you get the BEST OF BOTH ~ convenience (location) and great views!! Hope this helps....:D

Blessings and prayers to our American soldiers overseas...
