Good Morning everyone.

Just bumping this up.

Fee Fee White, Enjoy your trip.

999ghts hope all is well.

Good Morning LoveMickey,

Can you tell me anything about the Deluxe rooms at WL? I will be down in Jan and would like it if someone could tell me about these rooms.

Thanks Dan,

I am not going back to WDW anytime soon due to finacial reasons, but for my birthday I just got from my dh a WL snow globe he bought off ebay.
It is so beautiful and even lights up.
So now when I am missing WDW and WL (whcih is pretty much everyday) I can just stare at my snow globe and dream I was there.

I need some advice. We will be at W L Oct. 4 thru 9, our second time at W L. We booked a standard room. I know some are over the frount desk and others overlooking the service area. I will be in-between chemo treatments, and fatuge will be a problem. The boat dock, the snack shop and the bus stop are my top priorities. Noise is NOT anissue with us, we live on a very busy street in St. Louis. I need a good room. We will be renting a ECV at the parks. Thanks

Hi DSP2

The deluxe rooms are nice and a must if traveling with small children. You walk in and there is a closet to your left and a small hallway to your right. In that hallway there is a double sink vanity to your left and the bathroom to your right. In front of you as you stand in that hallway there is a sliding door to the bedroom with two queen beds, an armoire and a TV stand. If you back up down the hallway and go back the other way from the entry you walk into an open living area with a table, pullout couch, TV, wet bar, and fridge. Also a patio with sliding doors. This room also connects to the bedroom, but with french doors that swing into the bedroom.

What else do you want to know.

Happy Birthday JBurke - your DH is a doll!! I saw those globes and wanted one, but didn't get it. Ebay here I come......

Enjoy! Dontcha just love snow globes?

The Hanks family check in tomorrow (9/13) at WL for their dream vacation!! Thanks to all 85 pages of posts- I found some amazing inside tips to make this an amazing trip. Jennifer has stage 4 lymphoma and her boys and husband have never been to Disneyworld- she went over 25 years ago- I told her alot has changed! But the amazing Disney folk have come through with some amazing plans for their trip and I am so indebted- we've put this together in 4 weeks and she's feeling great- it's been 4 weeks since her last chemo treatment and the pain from shingles has gone! She's got new inserts in her faithful Nike's and is ready for the adventure- a special thank you to all the amazing Disboarders who gave invaluable tips and donations to make this possible. A big whoo-hoo and anyone there this week - if you see their family- give them a pat on the back- they've been through so much and it's wonderful to make this a dream come true- her 8 year old turns 9 on Sunday- what a day!! Thanks everyone!!
Tara :p

EXCELLENT!!
I have been following this thread and will be thinking of them this weekend. I know they'll have a magical time. You are a true friend.

Hope I can help with these tips:
1) May I suggest checking into renting an ECV for your length of stay? It can be sent directly to WL and it definitely will give you peace-of-mind. Valet will also recharge the battery nightly for you. ECV's are few in each park, so you have to get there REALLY early, which doesn't necessarily guarantee you'll get one!(I can try to get a phone # for you if you pm me)
2) Which of the mentioned locations is MOST important to you? If you want to be near the lobby, Mercantile, and bus stop, then a lobby room view is for you. If you want to be near the pool and Roaring Fork, request a room near the RF elevator in the North Wing.

Please post any further questions you may have and I'll try to help as best as possible....

God Bless You,
kimmar

PS ~ Imhall2000, you are indeed a wonderful friend to have!! Sending some Pixie Dust * ~* ~ * ~ * your way for your friends...

Hi Kimmar -

If I can get the rate and availability I need, we might be headed back October 25-30. Air is booked & paid - my kids are begging to go back to WL.

This wasn't "planned" - My stepson is going to a conference down there and my kids need to see him!

And how and where is 999 ghosts? She may just have changed her identity!!!! God bless, wherever you are!

And thanks to this thread, I made it just over 100 posts so I rewarded myself with one of my favorites in honor of DH!

The Hanks were "WOWED" by WL when they stepped in- and even more "WOWED" when they found they were upgraded to concierge level!!! She called me and could not stop saying "WOW" in an extremely exuberant voice. She said her room had a great view of the castle- (I'll have to make a mental note of her room number for those of you planning trips) and they received a huge box loaded with goodies for the family. Nothing but pure joy coming from them- I think seeing the bathrobe threw her into delirium- is too much pixie dust possible?
But she wanted me to share that words can not describe the incredible gift they have received and she sends her deepest gratitude to all of you who made it special. Thank you!
Tara

There is no such thing as too much *PD*!! I am so happy for your friends!!

Hi all!! We just found out that my oldest DD is to be part of a concert during part of our originally scheduled stay at WDW. So no big deal we rescheduled it and moved it back one week. That means we will arrive MOTHERS DAY!!! Woo hoo yippee for me. :bounce: Just wondering, has anyone else been during Mothers Day? I know it is also during tht flower show, but wondered if there were any special events during that time???

We are now in the single digits on the countdown!! It's time to start thinking about getting the suitcases down and slowing packing. We'll be taking our 2 1/2 year old son (this will be his 4th trip) and our 7 1/2 month old daughter (this is her first time!).

We have never gone with more than 1 of our kids at a time and if anyone has any helpful info on getting around in the parks, things to bring, Rooms to suggest, etc - I sure would appreciate it.

The Wilderness Lodge Villa and The Beach Club Villa is going to be where we are staying - both are first times for us! We have never stayed at either resort - the villa or regular room. We have stayed at the BoardWalk Villa on 2 separate vacations and absolutely LOVED it! The Contemporary, The Coronado, The Carribean, All Star Movies, & All Star Music & The Polynesian are the other on premesis resorts we've tried so far. After staying in a Villa, I am competely SPOILED and hate to go to a regular room again! It makes things so much nicer, especially with kids. Having a washer & dryer, a fridge and a microwave for the baby's bottles/food... What a help.

We plan on bringing 2 separate strollers instead of our double stroller... Any of you have an opinion on this? I'm a little nervous this go-'round because having one baby is difficult enough! I just want this trip to turn out nicely.

I have 3 vouchers from "Connections" for the "Quick & Casual Meal Vouchers" and I'm anxious to try The Beach Club's "Beaches & Cream" since I've heard so much about it. That will be a first for us as well.

I've already made dinner reservations with various restaurants (Garden Grill; Chef Mickey's; O'Hana's; Whispering Canyons; Hollywood & Vine). The Crystal Palace will be closed until December, so that was dissappointing; Chef Mickey's always seems to get booked very quickly - I'm glad I booked with them so far ahead... They are already filled up on our Saturday night stay. (I tried to make an earlier time, but all the times were already taken.) ** I recently found a toll free number to make dining arrangements: It is 1-800-446-5365 press 3. ** I found this AFTER I already made our priority seating arrangements.

I wonder if our friend ghsts999 is back at work. I will have our green ribbon (couldn't find lime green - settled for mint green) on our luggage; That would be so nice if we got some kind of hint from her if she checks us in. I sure do hope she's okay...

Oh, question - should I have my husband wait in the car while I check in? Or should we find a parking space, take the kids and luggage out and walk to the check in desk? Is there another parking area where we may get assigned near to our Villa room number? I would hate to have to re-pack everything and the babies and drive to another spot and unload again.

Thanks guys,
Mimi

Hi!
Sounds like you're well planned and ready to go! We've travelled with our children when they were (3 & almost 1 and pregnant), (4, almost 2, & almost 1 thank goodness not pregnant) and (6, 3, & 2)- we had always brought our strollers- we've done it both ways- on our second trip we ditched our stroller- too bulky- and just paid extra for the double stroller- it was big enough to fit all three on that trip and much easier to maneuver than ours. On the last trip we brought one very lightweight stroller and rented the double at the parks- it seems like the younger ones traded off napping and the strollers at the parks are conducive to reclining and catching a snooze. And it was big enough that even our 6 year old could take a break in it. We also like the freedom of transporting the children without a stroller and just getting one at the park. We felt it was well worth the money- not to have to ask the child to get out of the stroller- they get mighty comfortable and don't liked being asked to get out- fold it up and hop on the bus. I would plan your meals early- our younger ones were always ready for dinner by 4:30-5:00- and mini snacks during the day help. Have a great trip! Oh and do you find the villas offer as much charm as the lodge itself? We're trying to decide- we stayed at OKW and liked it but when we stayed at AKL it just had so much more ambience to it. Thanks!
Tara

Pepperidge.

I believe that the WL & WLV share the same parking lot which is closer to the WL. When you check in you can park your car outfront for a few minutes while the bellhop unloads your luggage and places it on a cart. I would assume your husband would be there for that while you check in (with the children).

The best thing as far as parking goes would be for the kids to stay with you while your husband parks the car and you can walk to the WLV or you can valet the car (for $6)...this is a great option if you visit a lot of the resorts or plan to drive to the parks, etc. It makes it much easier when traveling with the little ones. My dd (4) and I did this for our WL stay last month, much easier (worth the extra)...otherwise you can have your dh drop you all off and he can park.
