NEW Wilderness Lodge FAQ!!

Hello All,

Just upgraded my ressie from POR to WL with code, they didn't have any standard views left so I took a woodsview. We are a family of 5. 2 adults, 14, 12 and 5 year old.

My guestion is, are there 2 queen beds with a day bed in the woodview room? I swear I read this somewhere on these boards, but now I can't find it anywhere. I even asked the CM at CRO and she said yes, but it bothers me that I can't verify this information anywhere.

Anyone out there able to answer this question for me? Does anyone have a picture of the daybed, if there is such a thing? Will my dd of 5 sleep comfortably on this?

Thanks!! :D

JBurke, I couldn't do my own countdown:rolleyes: I am soooo computer iliterate!! My 29 y/o ds did mine for me. You can get the instructions over on the tech support board, I believe.
And, we will be at Wl for the first time 8/16-8/23. I am so looking forward to this. You all have certainly sold me on this resort. See ya there!

Hi wisconsinmousermom!!! Man, that's a mouthful!! Anyway. I don't think there is a day bed at WL. Not in the regular rooms anyway. 2 queens, 1 queen and bunkbeds, 1 king. Maybe you could get a roll-a-way cot for one of the kids. We loved POR but it's time for a change, so it's WL for us this time too.

...try sending a pm to AskMickey, who can probably answer your question;)

Well I answered my own question last night with a CM at CRO. WL only has room for 4 unless you book a deluxe. This CM apoligized for the the other CM's information and spent about 30 minutes with me trying to find us a deluxe that we could afford. I ended up holding the POLY, garden view, (over our budget even with the $90 discount), but I'm really hoping we will see some more codes next week and hopefully AP codes that would also help. The POLY has always been "THE PLACE" I've wanted to stay at, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Am I right in my information, you can use regular codes plus an AP code?

Thanks!

Hey JBurke
We'll be there during the same time (8/15-8/19). We were there around the same time last year. I just made or reservations with the "come back" rate. We just got back from staying at the FW cabins which was a really nice experience.

Last year, mid August was a nice time to go because the parks weren't too busy, off peak season starts around the 15th. We did get a lot of the afternoon thunderstorms though, it's that time of year. But, if you go to the parks early you can get a lot of park time in and when the skies open up you can head back to your room for a rest/nap or just take those ponchos.

We stayed in a Deluxe Room in December, got about a 40% discount with the Disney Club Card. Absolutely loved the room. We had Room 4166, all the way at the end of the hall (quite a walk, but worth it). The Electric Water Parade came by our balcony every night (my son loved it) and we could watch the geyser and the fireworks from MK from the smaller balcony. The seperate bedroom was great, and the two televisions came in very handy. We stocked the fridge the first day and saved a fortune on drinks, and had lots of milk for snacks and cereal.

WOW-that room sounds wonderful! At the very end of the hall-so you had a great lake view? Could you see the pool area? Was this in the wing closest to the boat dock? I also debate getting a deluxe or 2 connecting rooms-gotta have my space!

Hope to see you around the lodge jwfla and goofy4tink!!
Have you ever been to WL before?
Its such a great resort

We will have to speak more as our trips get closer!
Last time we went we met up with imgoingtodisney also from this board. It was fun lounging around the pool with her and her family.
We have been lucky during our last 2 October trips not to experience rain, so I will have to remember to take along some ponchos for my gang (me, DH, DD 8, DD 5 and DS 2)
Glad to hear the crowds might be low, we were spoiled by walking right onto rides in October.

Codes cannot be combined. You can use one or the other only.

JBurke, Nope, we've never been, not even to check it out!!!We are all very excited about WL. Just booked with DU and asked for a woods view, up high. What a plus it would be to meet some of the terrific folks from here. Know my dd, 9, would think it was pretty funny!! Those of us there at the same time will have to talk later, as we get closer!!

The room was incredible. Lots of windows, so lots of light. We had a great view of the lake, it was one of the first things you saw as you walked in the room. The balcony off of the bedroom had a great view of the geyser and the pool (and the fireworks from MK). We were in the wing closest to the marina, a little bit of a walk to the restaurants, but not too bad if you cut through the courtyard.

Some other plusses to the Deluxe Room: Double sinks in the bathroom, refrigerator and sink in the living room, robes, coffee and coffee maker provided free.

Johndavid,

Thanks for the mention of your deluxe room. Discount or not I think this is the best choice for us. I am going to request the same room you had!! It sounds like a great location.

Great goof4tink! Maybe our 9 year old DDs can hang out!
You will love the lodge. The kids especially enjoy the pool/slide.
On certain days they have crafts and games by the pool which my girls had fun doing. They play while mommy has a drink at the pool bar ;)
That's usually where I could always find my DH!!

This could sound like a nutty question, but is there a light for the bottom bunk? I may be sleeping in this one and I really like to read at night, in bed. Bottom bunk seems perfect for this, very cave like, but a light would be needed. I see one above the top bunk but can't seem to find any pictures of the lower bunk wall.

....concerned about a light for the bottom bunk, you can always bring one of those portable "clip-on" reading lights that attach to the headboard. It won't be too bright that it would "bother" the sleepers in your family!!!!:)

You guys are all gonna have a GREAT time at WL in August!! Be sure to have a meal at WC ( and ask for Jeffro to be your server!)
