Hey Everybody!

So last september my family & I took another trip to WDW. We stayed at CS once again. But anyways, since we stayed at a WDW resort we used the bus transportaion alot. When we would go to DTD or pass through the PO area, myself & my dad saw a glimpse of something (like a new resort being built) in construction with an Indian/Moroccan feel to it. It was hard to get a really good look of it, but for riding by it on a bus, we saw a good bit. Is Disney adding a new resort to the already 20+ resorts? Like I said, it was under construction, but looked amazing! I've been reasearching it online ever since september & I haven't been able to find anything on it. Sooo, whats up? Has anyone else seen that? I bet its developed even more since I saw it.

Thanks! ;)

As far as I know Disney doesn't have any new resorts planned on thier own, they did announce several years ago that they were going to working with the Four Seasons to create a deluxe resort that would have a championship 18 hole golf course, a hotel, and some time shares. From your description of what buses you were on this is probably what you saw, they are scheduled to open sometime in 2012.

Here is a link to the press release.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks for the response! Thats very possible, but it looked too themed for a Four Seasons hotel. I guess we'll just have to wait & see. I found this article with some pictures of the construction (mousesteps.com), but I'm still not sure if this is what I saw or not. These pictures don't match my memory, but it could just be because its been developing ever since.

There are only large three construction projects outside of the parks that I am aware of right now:

1) The Four Seasons Resort, which includes fractional-ownership homes, at the former location of the Eagle Pines golf course, near Ft. Wilderness. It is across from the north end of Bonnet Creek Parkway on Vista Blvd,, and would be near the northernmost reaches of POR. As far as I know, you can only see landscaping and some entrance work.

2) The Best Friends Pet Resort, further down Bonnet Creek Parkway, across from the POR entrance.

3) The Flamingo Crossings development, at the extreme western end of Western Way. Not much to see except empty land and some landscaping, and there is no reason a Disney resort bus would have gone near there.

FYI, the Four Season resort is not a Disney resort. In fact, the land it is being built on has been de-annexed from Reedy Creek.

I have been curious about this!!
when we were there staying at POFQ in Oct they were just working on the entrance area, and we were wondering as to what it is going to be.(corner of Bonnet Creek Pky and Vista Blvd)

Yeah, we saw it in that area! I know there are other hotels in construction on WDW property. Buttttt, I also know that 4 seasons hotels don't look like you just arrived in Morocco. Neither do pet hotels/kennels. Disney is good about keeping things a secret, so I wouldn't be surprised if they had another hotel in the works.

I don't think Disney is very good at keeping construction secrets at all. They can feign ignorance:

"What are they building next to the Contemporary where the garden wing was?"

"What construction?"

or deception:

"It's a SuperTarget"

or:

"There is nothing to see here. Look over there - Space Mountain!"

Construction projects get noticed. We may not know what they are for initially, but there are construction permits, etc. that have to be filed.

I haven't seen any pictures of "Morocco" theming exactly...

Here is an example of an entryway element of the Four Seasons/Residential development in that area (courtesy MouseSteps):

And here is what looks to be an office/lobby-type building...

Although there has been some speculation that these may not be for the Four Season proper, but the residential end of things.

"It's a SuperTarget"

^ :lmao: ^

Well, that would have been convenient ! :rotfl:
