New Video Now Player at Target

I recently purchased 2 of the color video now players for my kids for Christmas (got them on clearance for about $25 each). I kind of figured because they were on clearance that a newer version was going to come out this year. I even e-mailed Hasbro and asked them and they said they didn't know of anything yet but if they did they old PVD's would work in them (which meant they didn't want to tell yet). Well, yesterday I was at our local Target and lo and behold there was a brand new Video Now Player in a few different colors. It is rectangle and has a cover that closes like the Gameboy advance do (but larger). It says it plays all the movies and stuff like it did before but is now interactive and will play games also. Said there was over 100 disks available. So, I am going to be bringing the old ones back and getting these now for Christmas for the kids - these will be great for the plane. I'm sure there will be a bunch of new disks coming up for the holiday season. The price I think was about $65 for it and I think you could buy adapters and headphones for it also.

We saw that at Target as well. DD wants one, but we think a real DVD player with a larger screen might be a better buy. By the time you get headphones, adaptor, case and PVDs you are looking at a lot of $. She had to have the black and white one and it was so small and it wasn't fun watching b & w so I sold it at the garage sale. Used probably 6 times.

We already have the portable DVD player for trips as well. But, I like the portability of these especially in the car for shorter trips. Kids have the Black and White ones also and they have gotten a lot of use out of them. These new ones have larger screens also and I figure both kids can share the PVD's. I will also be getting my giftcards from Hotwire and my parents get a 10% discount at Target since my dad retired from there. Waiting for it to go on sale - and figure I will only pay about $40 -$45 each for it.
