...at a location other than my "Home Resort"? i.e. If I purchase points @ OKW, and at Vero Beach, is it ok to use combined points from both for a week at SSR? Are there the repercussions/disadvantages to using OKW points combined with Vero Beach points in making a reservation at a different resort?

At 7-months, you may combine points from all resorts which share the same membership number (and the same master contract number)

Example: You purchase 150 OKW points and later do a 50 point VWL Add-On contract. At 7-months you can use all 200 points in any combination you want, to make a reservation at any of the DVC resorts. Suppose you wanted BWV for 170 points; you could use 150 OKW points and 20 VWL points, or you could do 50 VWL points, and 120 OKW points, or you could do 40 VWL points and 130 OKW points, or any other combination you'd like.

Example 2. Not contracts with the same master contract number. You purchase 150 OKW points from Disney. Later you purchase a 50 point contract resale. In most cases the resale contract will be a different use year month and will have a different Master Contract number and Membership Number. You may not combine those points directly to make a reservation.

Note: If you purchase a resale contract which has the same Use Year as your original contract, you should have your broker direct Disney to enter the contract as an Add-On to your original contract, and not as a separate contract.

Caskbill is as usual right. Points are points once 7 month mark hits. Combine, borrow whatever you want and book wherever there is availability.

I will tell you that DVC can in certain cases combine points from totally separate contracts at the 7 month window. For current use year points it's easy as it's a simple transfer. For banked or borrowed points it's handled on a case by case basis but it has been known to happen.
