NEW Unofficial Guide looks great!

Any verdict yet on 2005 vs. 2006? Wondering if I should upgrade my mac and cheese stained curled cover 2005.....

Well, if it makes any of you feel better. Books A Million in Columbus GA still only has the 2005. (Was there a 2005 Passporter? This place is selling 2004?)

Did they have the coupon for a free pin again???

Um, I'm confused. Has the Unofficial Guide ever had a coupon for a free pin, cause I've never gotten any coupons in mine.
Or are you reffering to Birnbaum's Official Guide?

Do we really have a free pin offer in the book? I know we've given them out at Mousefest the last couple of years, but only a couple hundred were made each year. (So they're REALLY valuable. ;-) )

Thanks very much for the kind words on the book from those of you who've read it. I've caught a couple of minor things that I'll get corrected on the website shortly (an duplicate paragraph on the Stitch review, and some key researchers left off the list). But I like the new layout, and it gives us room for future expansion.

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon and had an email this morning that it shipped. (Not sure if the email was from yesterday or today since I didn't check my email after 3:00 yesterday.)

Okay, my only question is :

Did they finally seperate the MGM and Universal sections?

If I get an affirmative, I'll go ahead and order it right now. If not...I'm not buying it this year on principle. ;)

Does anyone know where i could get it (the unofficial guide) in Australia?

Adrienne :wizard:

Maybe i missed something but why are the Grand Villas at OKW not mentioned in the hotel info section of the new Unofficial Guide? The square footage is noted where the diagrams of the rooms are, but in the written comments(p. 155), it makes it sound like there are only studios, and 1 and 2 bedroom villas at OKW. We are staying in one in November so that's why i noticed!

I can't wait to get one. I have 1999, 2001, and 2003. Can you tell when we go or what?!?! However skipped a year, so will finally have an "even" year book. :cool1: Even though in the past, there was stuff duplicated from year to year, I still enjoyed reading it!! I really feel that this time I will read it cover to cover because it's been ssssssssssssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooo
long since I had a book or been to Disney!!! :)

Mine arrived in the mail today!!! :cheer2:

I brought it to bowling with me and was reading it when I wasn't bowling and kept reading it after I got home. I just put it down a short time ago to print some things that I need for an upcoming Pampered Chef party. But I'm reading it between printing.

I had to go to 3 bookstores but finally found one!!! I hope the changes make it worth the trouble I went through. I'm going to look at it tonight :)

Okay...the suspense is KILLING me.

Did they finally seperate the MGM and Universal sections?

Please someone tell me... ;)

N.E.D. , The best way to explain it is that the Universal Studios Section starts just after the MGM Studios touring plans in this edition of the UG. Not having owned the 2005 UG, I don't know whether this was the same way it was set up in that edition. I hope that I answered your question. :) :wave2:

I think it did. ;)

Sounds the same, so out of protest I'm not buying this edition.

MGM deserves it's OWN chapter. It irritates me to no end that AK has it's own chapter, yet MGM is lumped in with Universal. I love Universal, but it just isn't right.

Oh well, I just buy the book out of nostalgia anyway - it's terribly hard for a yearly publication to keep up with changes and most of the info you will ever need is right here on the DIS. I do like being able to read it in bed though. ;)

There was a knock on my door yesterday, it was the FedEx man handing me a brown box. I had no idea what it was since I hadn't ordered anything.
My WONDERFUL Mother-in-law had order it for me. What a great surprise. I was up have the night reading thru it. She always jokes and says my 2005 UG is my bible.

It's a great book. I picked it up at Books A Million the day after my Disney trip to begin planning for next year. I sat at my parents house with a highlighter studying it like a textbook. I read it cover to cover, except the Universal and Seaworld parts. It's funny!

I thought by pre-ordering, I'd be getting my copies early. :confused3 next time, I won't pre-order, I'll just head to B&N!!

But back on the subject...has anyone had a chance to really read it yet??? Glancing through I think the new format changes look nice!

I have read about 1/2 of the book....got it Saturday night. I really like the new format. I had the 2004 UG, so I debated the purchase....until I checked it out in B&N! I'm not sorry at all that I bought it, much clearer to me. :goodvibes

PA DISNEYLOVER: love your tagline! I'm a Marine Aunt and include the service men and women serving in Iraq and Afganistan every evening in my prayers. May God bless your family. Sorry to go off topic.
