new universal commerical

I believe for those of us who haven;t seen the other threads that this is new. In all due respect, if you don't like the thread, go find another one.

you can do the same.....

Funny, my kids, begged to go to universal this year! YEP! They wanted to go there over the mouse! So guess where we are going?!?!?! Universal! I can't wait! I am so excited! It is a different theme park and that is what people need to understand. I love Disney but it reaches a different part of me. I have to laugh, everyone is so upset over this comercial but they have no problems bashing Universal! Why bash it? You don't like it? Fine don't go there. But personally most on this thread are coming off way harsher than the comercial!

It's strange how these bash Universal threads keep showing up almost as if on schedule. I'm sure it's just an accident but it is kind of weird.

I seriously wonder if this kind of thing would be posted if it was Sea World or Busch Gardens making those statements.

We so need to get over ourselves here!! I think the US commercials are very funny!! I don't think they make a dent in Disney's business nor do I think they are intended to. They make the case that there is more to life than pixie dust and princesses and there is!!

I'm with you....

No bashing?

Universal is jealous and bitter.

it just seems like it's geared toward the "dark side" with really spooky gruesome stuff and not much happiness. if i want to see the dark side of life I'll go to a bad part of town , not on vacation. well that plus the lines are too long and the rides to short

You can't feel the magic at Universal

WDW is much more of a family park than US could ever dream of being and DtD beats the hell out of CityWalk

Universal knows they will never ever live up to Disney...so they have to stoop that low

it is disgusting US uses such surly attitudes

I wonder how much those kids got paid to say those things

Oh wahhh... someone made a TV commercial that doesn't :worship: Disney and GASP might actually tweak the Mouse's nose. I love this commercial; it has me :rotfl2: every time I see it. I give a big :thumbsup2 to Universal and the ad execs who created it. Obviously, some people have a sense of humor about Orlando theme parks.

I am a HUGE Disney fan, DVC owner and all. I think the commercials are funny! We visit it US about every other visit to WDW. It's different and that's ok! I love Disney, but I don't need to be defensive about it.

I'm not crazy about mud-slinging commercials, whether it's for theme parks, restaurants, or politicians.

There must be a better way. Used to love the one with Frankenstein doing the woman's pedicure. :teeth:

Universal will never be Disney!!!! ... OK, now that this is said, who cares? Universal, in fact, could be Disney if Disney bought them, but they haven't and Universal is what it is. Two additional great theme parks in Orlando with great hotels and great dining and loads of fun for many, many people.

I have AP's to both and look at USF as just two more choices to spend a day.

As to the commercial, I'll bet Disney doesn't mind it.

Interesting point. IMO Disney could buy them and change nothing and the people here bashing Universal would be praising the two new DIsney theme parks.

This isn't Six Flags. The two Universal Florida parks have much more going for them than MGM and AK.

I'm a Disney fan. I enjoy both WDW and Disneyland and my newest love is DCL.

I also had a great time at US/IOA last trip.
In fact we stayed onsite there and only made a couple of trips over to WDW.

DD and I also spent a really fun day at Six Flags Magic Mountain last month. Hard to believe, I know. ;)

So I guess I've really gone over to the dark side. :teeth:

I laughed when I saw the commercial, I certainly would'nt call it mud slinging. It's humor folks. :confused3

It's also focusing on their strength, which is different than mud slinging.

oh yeah, you know, we go to universal where you can see how to rob a bank and set tourists on fire...oh and devil worship, can't forget that one :rolleyes2

And we all know that Dr. Seuss, Curious George, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Popeye, Woody Woodpecker, E.T., Fievel, and Spiderman are all evil characters, right?

Spooky gruesome stuff? Oh and did the lines at WDW suddenly get shorter and the rides longer?

My mom has told me about those commercials. She vows to never visit Universal again in part because of those. Are they obnoxious and arrogant? Yes. Are they wrong? Yes. But, let's remember the truth. Little girls don't grow up and want to be hideously ugly ogres. Little boys don't want to kiss hideously ugly ogres. And last, but not least, let's take a look at money. There are two famous theme park resorts in Orlando. One watched it's attendance drop last year. The other watched it's attendance rise. Universal is jealous and bitter. And this kind of campaign is only going to appeal to those who don't like Disney, and that's not very many people.

I think they should focus on advertising what they have at their park. Why people would want to go to THEIR park. Not make digs at Disney. It's childish and a pathetic way of advertising. I'm just glad that sort of advertising is banned over here.

:lmao:
