New TTC Thread

Fort the first time ever, I can now chart my periods. :cool1: I have fibroids and have had to be on birth control for them. I quit the pill in December because I kept having seizures. :scared1: (I have a seizure condition. I take Lamictal and Topamax for it.)

Anyhoo, I figured I could never have kids and gave up. Then, my periods started coming every month right smack in the middle. The pill made me sick and I had to get off of it. I guess everything happens for a reason. My dx says he doesn't want me back on them unless my fibroids come back and only until they get under control again.

yay! I hope they stay far far away!

Si-am ~ I've always heard the less stress the better. I think that it's always in the back of your mind but when you have resigned yourself to something and give yourself a break sometimes life has a way of surprising you. I'm hoping that that's what happens for your and DH:goodvibes.

NN called back and told me that they start counting from day of "first flow" like soontobewed said. Dr.K just called when I started typing this and said that I should either come in on Sunday or Monday for a Base line ultra sound. Then dependent on those results I guess on day 3 start pills 2 times twice a day which will increase my egg production then we have to hope that I ovulate on my good side, I can't believe that I can't remember which is my good side right now but i will verify that this weekend and write it somewhere.

Is it weird that I got misty. . .

I'm another blast from the past too. I was on the original thread a while back. I wonder whatever happened to beckmarc?

It's been four years for us and no luck. My DS is now 8 1/2. The age difference doesn't bother me too much. I think even if they are 10 years apart, how cool would it be for DH and I to go away for the weekend and leave our 15 year old with the 25 year old! Hopefully this will work for us.

I had a laporoscopy done, tubes nearly completely blocked, in Feb 09. OB said come back for treatment if not pg by August. So, here we are still not PG and just completed my second cycle of Clomid.

I'm on 100 now. Just had 2nd invasive ultrasound in 5 days. Good news is I have two follicles on my left ovary, one is 23. My estrogen was 21 and my uterus was at 12. Not sure of the measurement system. I've really got to research that or just ask the dr. Dr said this was all good and to "get going" tonight and this weekend.

I go back to the OB on Monday for more bloodwork and another ultra sound. Can he tell by ulta sound if I get PG this weekend?

I know in my hear I will stop TTC after the third clomid cycle. I has severe preeclampsia and HELLP with my son and don't want to go too far. He was a tiny 3lbs at birth and is fabulous. We both fully recovered from hus early 30 delivery. Dr said, I needed for vitamin, b, d ad folic acid. Who knew?!

I've already looked into adoption and will go there in March if these clomid cycles don't work.

Wishing you all baby dust and most importantly good health! Glad I found you!

Rachael

Thanks, guys. I think I *might* feel differently if my RE were more helpful. I guess there's not much she can do, but I feel like she is totally railroading me into IUI.

I would be willing to try Clomid (I've been on Femara, which didn't work, obviously) but she won't even let me make another appointment unless I also schedule a training session for IUI and injections. Now, NO WAY is my insurance paying for that because they don't cover anything related to IUI.

Plus, all the time off work, it's so stressful. It's probably why I can't get pg anyway!

I say since you have to pay out of pocket then maybe you should be seeing another RE. I told mine that after this round of Clomid I wanted to move on to IUI she agreed and we are moving towards that if this cycle doesn't work out.

I don't really know how all of you girls do it . Here in MA everything is covered from meds to procedures to EVERYTHING. I wish you all could just move here so you can get the insurance to help.

That's so cute. Really it must be so hard on all of you the extra stress. I really think you are all amazing this journey is so difficult without all of that stress. I just don't know if we could do it with having to pay all of that money OOP.

After a while you get used to living in poverty. ;)

IL is the same. We get covered for most things but since I just started I don't want to get to far ahead and jinx it. My deductable is pretty high, in my estimation, but I do get pretty good coverage so I'm not going to complain! Hey some of you go to MA and some come here and we'll split the differece!:thumbsup2

My insurance has covered all my tests, ultrasounds, and RE appointments. It will also cover meds... as long as it isn't related to IUI or IVF in any shape, way, or form.

Unfortunately, I'm in an HMO kind of system and this is the ONLY RE in network, so I'd have to totally pay out of pocket to see someone else. Stupid insurance!

Our insurance is $1250 for the deductible and then it's all covered. Maternity benefits are completely covered. It's not too bad. Kenny works two jobs (his choice, not mine.) He works at Hard Rock Hotel as a sous chef during the day and a few nights a week, he transports merchandise from place to place for Wally World. (He's a Manager and also has a pilot's license). HRH is overseen here by Cherokee Nation and we can get fantastic insurance out of them! We're thinking of signing up when enrollment comes back around. Meds wise, Wally World is great. I pay $4-8 for seizure meds. Dx visit wise...not so much.

That was one thing that REALLY upset me. PA doesn't have any laws about coverage on infertility. Luckily my testing etc was covered, but anything past diagnosis was a no-go. The suckiest thing was that EVERY state bordering PA except for Delaware has infertility coverage in it's laws. GRRR!!!

Day 3 no caffeine! I gotta say so far so good. TMI Alert! Still no flow and just spotting. Tested for giggles but still BFN so just waiting. . . so weird! But if I'm still spotting and I don't have full "flow" until the next couple of days then I'm on time in a way.:confused3. I am also very grumpy which is par for the course around this time. I'm waitng for the darn switch to go off so I can shake the po'd feeling that I have!

Ok that's my whine for now. Maybe now that it's out there and said/written it will go away:goodvibes

Hope everyone if well!

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I hope this is it for you esbrick! I hope that this weird spotting is a good sign and that you are about to get a BFP and that it's just taking it's time, I am still crossing my fingers for you!

I still have a really good feeling about this month- high hopes! Happy monday everyone...we'll as happy as monday's can get :goodvibes

Esbrick- Still holding out hope. Fingers crossed.

MrsCharming- See you put up a ticker good for you. 7 weeks time is already flying by.

As for me Nothing Nada Zip- I had my U/S today and not one single follicle on 150mg of clomid. The doctor was shocked at least on the 50mg I had some activity. So it's provera and a shed then shots and an IUI. My DH seems thrilled :rotfl: he actually has to put in some effort now.:sad2:

So I didn't think I was ever going to have to go thru this I thought the clomid would do it but I guess not.

Also had a sonohyst today and my tubes are clear so who knows whats wrong. I am going to start running tonight and see if I can loose some weight maybe that will help.
