CHERBEAR....you are in your 2ww now!!! It doesnt get bad until you get down to ONE week...then you start obsessing over symptoms...and DONT buy your pregnancy test(s) ahead of time....just some advice;)

I bought 15 tests online....i used ALL of them on just ONE CYCLE...LOL...im kinda embarrassed to admit that:rolleyes1 So my last cycle I WAITED until the day before my RE told me to test and bought a test for the next morning...saved me ALOT of stress this time!!

yeah!!! Made it through one day. woohoo! Yeah last time after IUI I went crazy, and then soon realized that ALL my symptoms were caused by the stupid progesterone supplements.

And I already have like 15 tests from online, a couple dollar tree tests, a couple FRERs, a digital gold FRER, and possibly one other brand. :lmao:

And I told myself I will not test until 14 dpIUI because last time I "tested the hcg trigger out of my system" well, at least I THOUGHT I did. The tests got lighter and then got white by 7 dpo. Well, I took a FRER at 10 dpo thinking it was all out of my system. I got a faint line, which I never got again, so it was the HCG trigger lingering in my system and showed up on the very sensitive FRER. So the moral of the story is: NO testing for me until February 3.

Thank you, you just gave me my morning giggle. And we aren't laughing at you it is certainly WITH you...because we have all done something like this at one point! Haha.

Sending good vibes and baby dust again :goodvibes

AF reared her ugly head this last night before bed! DH turns to me and says "Good, I'm glad! Now we can get started! Call Nicole in the am!" So I've already left a message and waiting for her to call me back.:)

Question, AF very light last night actually before bed, still very light this am which is normal. Usually does not kick in until day 3 or 4. Ive always been counting on Day 1 should I really be starting on Day 3 or 4 ya think?:confused3 Plus this cycle was early just like DSD's was. Crazy!

I'm away for a few days and everyone gets a visit from her aunt???
Darn AF always messing things up!!!!:drinking1 Drink up ladies!!!

Esbrick - I'd still count day 1 even if its light but not if it is just spotting.

Well, I started drinking raspberry tea this am. Couldn't find LEAF TEA but when I read the ingredients it does say raspberry leaves. Hope this works cuz I am not real keen on drinking tea.

The RE said that I should count the first day of spotting. She said once it picks up a bit and becomes a true steady then I should start counting that day.

i posted on here ages ago and then went awol!

some background

i have a lovely 3 year old (first time of asking....literally! only had sex once during my fertile time that cycle :lmao:) and we have been trying for number 2 since Nov 2008.

Got pregnant in Jan last year, but had a miscarriage at 8 weeks, then got pregnant again in October last year, and had another miscarriage at 8 weeks.

I am now in my 2ww for the first time since the last pregnancy loss. It took us 7 months after the first loss, so not holding out a lot of hope for this cycle.

I'm so sorry for your losses. Have you ever been put on progesterone? It might be as simple as taking progesterone during your pregnancy.

i've not had any investigations in relations to the miscarriages yet, I'm in the UK and the guidelines here are to only do that after 3 consecutive losses (as it's so common to have even 2 in a row, especially early into the pregnancy), particularly if you have already had a healthy pregnancy.

wow, is there at least a way you can have your progesterone checked 7 days after the next time you ovulate? I would try for that, because if you just have low progesterone, it is as simple as taking a couple pills a day! It won't cost much either

something like that wouldn't costs anything on the NHS here :)

my husband and i are both okay with trying again this time without any investigations and then looking at our options. Mind you, if we are still trying in 6 months time I'll go back up to the early pregnancy unit for a chat.

oh, and just to add, this thread is great for advice. I had never though of suing ovulation predictor sticks until I read about it here. The last pregnancy was the first time in 6 months I had used the sticks and bingo BFP lol.

Suing them? Yeah, there are definitely times I'd like to sue mine for getting my hopes up. :rotfl: (Sorry couldn't resist).

Welcome to the thread by the way.

DH and I had a good long talk about things a few nights ago and decided we're not going to pursue any more treatment. It just stresses me out too much, and we're not willing to shell out a ton of money on failed IUIs. And IVF is way out our league financially right now!

So, we're kind of resigned to the idea that we may never have children, but I have convinced him to get a puppy this summer if I'm not pg. I've never had a dog before, so that will be an adventure! :scared1:

 I feel for you si-am!
Puppies are a lot of fun. :dog:

Si-am - I totally understand coming to that decision. We went to Disney after a year of trying as my "consolation" prize since we still hadn't gotten pregnant. I ended up finally getting pregnant a couple of months later on my first cycle of clomid. I haven't been quite so lucky this time.

Well I think I have decided that this year is it. If we are not pregnant by the end of the year we will officially quit TTC. I will be 36 next month and although I know people older than that have healthy pregnancys all the time I'm not willing to do that. As it is there could be almost 8 years between my children if I don't get pregnant until late this year and there will be 7 at least. I would be 54 or 55 years old when the youngest graduates high school. So....I'm trying to relax, but do everything in my power to make this happen. I am willing to try as much as IUI up to 3 times max if the doctor thinks that is our next step. The good news is my doctor is very much on the same train of thought as I am as far as my time being limited. I know she won't make me wait around on anything.

I am ready to be done with clomid though....I have been a crazy lady and really don't like it one bit.

I hope this relaxed approach is what gets you pg! And either way I hope you get a puppy. I LOVE dogs, and especially when they are puppies.

Thanks, guys. I think I *might* feel differently if my RE were more helpful. I guess there's not much she can do, but I feel like she is totally railroading me into IUI.

I would be willing to try Clomid (I've been on Femara, which didn't work, obviously) but she won't even let me make another appointment unless I also schedule a training session for IUI and injections. Now, NO WAY is my insurance paying for that because they don't cover anything related to IUI.

Plus, all the time off work, it's so stressful. It's probably why I can't get pg anyway!

I understand where your RE is coming from with the IUI thing, but they still should allow you to make an appointment! It's your life, your body, your money, ya know? If you did decide to do the training class, could they possibly code it differently so at least that would be covered?

I know about the time off, that's why I definitely am against IVF at this point. I think you go in every other day for at least a week or a couple of weeks even! My dr is almost an hour drive from home/work. 40 minutes on a good day and driving 80 on the interstate.

You may have mentioned this before but have you told your boss anything? (Or maybe it's just not the time yet). Once I told my boss (just this week) I felt like such a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders and it's no longer stressful for me asking time off for appointments. It really made all the difference in the world

Fort the first time ever, I can now chart my periods. :cool1: I have fibroids and have had to be on birth control for them. I quit the pill in December because I kept having seizures. :scared1: (I have a seizure condition. I take Lamictal and Topamax for it.)

Anyhoo, I figured I could never have kids and gave up. Then, my periods started coming every month right smack in the middle. The pill made me sick and I had to get off of it. I guess everything happens for a reason. My dx says he doesn't want me back on them unless my fibroids come back and only until they get under control again.
