Well this is certainly interesting. Im sure there are some furious e-mails buzzing their way to Italy right now.
These look like internal demos, theyre not trailers meant for pubic release. These are mainly made for internal Disney use and are meant to give a feeling of the final film and to get people excited about it: it gives Consumer Products ideas about what merchandise to plan for, maybe could give Attractions some ideas. These films will probably be shown to several licenses and strategic partners (i.e., the Happy Meal Crowd) to start the hype for these films as well. Again, these are not meant for the public and I suspect they wont be on the Internet for long. These were obviously taped at a presentation somewhere. Because of the applause I think this was to a group within Disney.
I keep hearing good things about Lilo and Stitch and the demo fortunately confirms what Ive been hearing. A good, straight-forward story with interesting characters. The one scene where Stitch watches the family build a sand castle on Lilo and then he builds one on himself is outstanding. If the entire movie can keep that up, this may be The Great Hope for Disney animation. I guess being the poor, ignored country cousin really helped this one.
Now we could just find someway to get rid of that 'Peter Pan' movie...
