This week's Top 5 Frequently
Asked Questions

1. I've sent in a problem through Contact Us but no one has replied - why haven't I heard from anyone?

We respond to every email we get within 24 hours - but some email providers (like AOL.com, Hotmail.com, msn.com, Comcast.net, Cox.net, rr.net and Earthlink) block our responses.
If you use any of the email providers listed above, or haven't gotten a response from us, this is the reason.

Some email providers have Spam Filters that automatically block email from an unknown source and you have to tell the program (the email application) to allow email from that source. To get email from VMK, go into the preferences for your mailbox and allow mail from: mailman@virtualmagickingdom.com. (Please note, this email address DOES NOT receive email except via the Contact Us form.)
You also have the option to submit an alternate email address (this option is under the Send Details box) in the Contact Us tool if your provider won't take our replies. We suggest setting up another email account, like yahoo.com to get our replies.

2. Why is VMK Staff or a Community Leader ignoring me?

If you're talking to a VMK Staff member or a Community Leader and it seems like they're ignoring you, keep in mind they may be away from their computer.
Also, many times when VMK Staff are in a room they're there for a specific reason and may be unable to respond to your questions or requests at the time – don't take it personally, they're just doing their job. If you have questions when you're in-game that can't be answered by VMK Staff, check out the VMK FAQ located in the HELP section (that's in the upper right corner on the VMK homepage) on the VMK website.

3. I logged on into VMK and my character and stuff were gone - why was my account was deleted?

If you haven't logged into VMK for six-months or more - that account will be deleted. We need to delete unused accounts periodically to clear out room in the database for new users. If you don't want your account deleted, make sure you log into the game occasionally to keep your account active.

4. Why can't I log into the game and play VMK?

If you try to log into VMK and it's either closed or the site is too busy – don't panic. Sometimes VMK closes for improvements and will open again momentarily. Also, when there are many players in the game, this can cause VMK's system to become very busy – this is normal. Just wait a few minutes and try again later or wait until the Kingdom is less crowded.

5. My room needs a makeover - how do I get one?

Enter it in the Room Makeover contest! Just go to the Contact Us section on the VMK website. (The Contact Us link is located at the bottom of the every VMK webpage.) Then choose "Room Makeover Submission," fill in your information and the VMK Staff will evaluate your submission. Rooms in need are chosen for a Room Makeover. Good luck!
For more information about these or a complete list of VMK's most frequesntly asked questions, check out our FAQ.

I can't figure out why there are problems with most of the major email sites?
Why should I have to create yet another email address when I can barely get around to checking all the ones I currently have now?

They need to contact these sites and let them know that they are Disney and not just some sort of spam.

I agree with all of the above, but really have to say that I am just happy they are trying to address our problems, finally:cool1: Yes, and why are they not supported in e-mail by the most popular addresses? This makes no sense.

Hiya Sea Tea! I work in publishing, and one of my tasks is to attempt to resolve why our clients, who are businesses, don't get our emails - that they WANT. We have been at it for over 3 years trying to work with the above mentioned email sites, to correct these (as well as advising our client businesses to do the same). We have a customer database of the business we email.. at their request. But as our emails do go out in bulk, these email providers have labeled us as SPAM and will not let it get through. Disney is also a 'for profit' business as is my employer. They also submit bulk emails. That is why their emails get 'caught' too, as SPAM.

It is true that if you will put the email address VMK provided, into your safe list.. you WILL get the emails. But it is the ONLY way, still, after our 3 years of this, to get them through.

You DO NOT have to make a new Email account anywhere, IF you will put that email address into your safe list. I myself have hotmail as my primary email provider, I put the mailman@virtualmagickingdom.com in my safe list, and I have received an email from them (but let's not discuss that claim that they "answer within 24 hours bit") LOL

Kudos to VMK. I sent them an email on Thursday night about 11pm, I received a response email about the same time last night (Friday).

Albeit I need to rehash my discussion (arg) and provide additional information, they responded as they stated they would.

Thanks VMK - now lets hope you can resolve my technical problem.

i have to tell you a funny one:
my brother was in a host room, hula was the host and she got dc'd lol
when she got back she said she got dc'd and my brother said "did you delete you cookies, and install latest version of shockwave" lol she responded " I ate all the cookies lol"

Duck,

I fully hear what you are saying, but for the record, I added that address to my "good" list when I first thought I had a problem receiving e-mails. Comcast didn't care. It also didn't put the e-mails into my "spam" folder as it should have because I had it set up.

So, there's something more fundamentally wrong going on, though I can't fathom what it is!

Msn/Hotmail Does not give me problems at all for some reason they added the vmk messanger email to my contact list xD

I haven't received an answer from them in a long time. Does that mean I'll be AllisonDude for the rest of my VMK life?

Ah! Thank you! You have given me a bit of insight there. (I probably should have added this to my first post) We do know that AOL is practically impervious to any attempts to make them work. But, not aware that Comcast appears to have that same attitude.

LOL guess I have a new project come Monday.. to start digging deeper into Comcast, barraging them, along with those of our clients that use it, as we have been doing with AOL. Course it may prove to be futile, but we now know we should give it the attention we give to AOL. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Thanks CT!
:thumbsup2

I agree with you because these sites let in the spam and keep the good sites out which I find stupid.
