Hi, I was invited here off the park board. My family is making our 1st trip to WDW in Sept. My 13 yr old daughter actually recieved a trip for 4 from an organization that gives trips to kids with special needs. She has Down syndrome. We are very greatful. We live in the midwest and have never flown so we have a big adventure coming up. I have been camped out lurking here for a few months now and finally decided to post. I am a big planner and so this has been fun for me. We will only be there for 4 days-5 nights but you can't count the travel days. We are staying at ALL STAR MUSIC and we are doing one character breakfast at Ohanas. I was wondering how important PS is during this time? I'd love to take the kids (13 and 8) to the Sci Fi Diner. My daughter doesn't have a lot of stamina and can't handle alot of heat so I'm a little anxious about this. Well thanks all for teaching me so much about WDW.

Hi and welcome to the DIS....Community Board!

We always go in September and usually priority seatings aren't necessary unless it is something very popular like Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary or Crystal Palace.

We have gone to Sci Fi twice and haven't had PS either time and we have had no problems getting in.

September is usually less crowded but it is still pretty hot. What are your dates? Ours are the 12-21 and we can't wait!!!

I know you will have a wonderful time and Disney is also WONDERFUL in helping with children with Special Needs. Your DD is going to have a BLAST!!!!

I don't have any good advice for you, but I just wanted to welcome you to the DIS....:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Sorry, but I don't have much advice, either. Welcome to the DIS Boards :) Happy you joined. :D

Hey mom, now I can use my welcome clip to welcome you here, glad you took up on the invitation to stop by.

The CB is sort of the 'coffee shop' of the DIS, just a nice place to come and chit chat amongst friends here. Make sure to stop here for a rest now and then from all the planning, fun as that can be too.

As for PS questions, you might run that by on the Restaurant board here (there's a borad for everything. :)) and get some more thoughts, but for any of the sitdowns, I do suggest, if you have an idea when you want to eat, make a PS. You might not need it, but sure does not hurt to have it.

Enjoy your 1st flight, your 1st WDW trip, and when you get bitten by the Mouse there, please do come back and tell us both how it went, and , when you are going back.

Nice to see you.

Welcome to the CB!
I hope that you'll visit us after returning from your magical WDW vacation! and make sure to be on the lookout for lime green ribbons while you're there! :p

Welcome Laney's Mom. PS's may not be needed after Labor Day but as anpther poster stated, it is still quite hot in Florida in September so just to be on the safe side I would make PS's to keep your wait time as short as possible. Some restaurants have waiting areas inside but some don't, so you could be waiting outside in the heat.

As a suggestion for a meal I would recommend the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom with the Pooh characters. You could do breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This is a sit down buffet, all you can eat restaurant and a very friendly family atmosphere.

Have fun and let us know how much fun you and your family have.

WELCOME! and have a GREAT first trip to the mouse! Most of us on this board go multiple times a year even, so any questions you have can be readily answered.

PS are not so necessary in September except for weekends and at some of the Epcot restaurants in World Showcase. We have never needed many that time of year. You can usually call from the room your first day and make them for the whole trip.

I assume with only 4 days in the park, you are probably going to a park a day. If you do NOT have hopper passes, be sure to stay away from the MK on the weekend.

Welcome! I have never been in September but I know that you will have a great time. Just take your time and be flexible. Don't expect to see everything because you can't. You might even consider taking a break in the middle of the day in the pool at your hotel. All Stars is a fun place. We stayed at All Star Sports three years ago and just loved it.

The boards here are great places for information.

Welcome.

I know you and your family will have a great time.:) You can always buy the handheld fans for your dd to help her with the heat.:)

WELCOME !!!!!!!!!

I dont have much advise for you other then TAKE THE BREAK everyone talks about in the middle of the day .

You will find everyone on the CB so nice and friendly

psssst here is a tip for you stay away from ALL pool hopping , refillable mug, and Tipping thread ;)
