new to universal????

New to Universal ( we have done the disney thing alot ) We plan on getting a 4 park flex ( Univ.s/IA,seaworld/and wet and wild ) We are staying off site ( LikiTiki resort ) Mid Oct. Any suggestions on night things to do ? At disney they have the parades, Fantasmic show, fireworks. In our flex package every park closes early, is there any good night things to do ( with children 11,9,7,4 ) We liked the parades, fireworks,etc. but wanted to try new parks. Any help we would appreciate!
Also how are these parks mid Oct. are they crowded? Thanks, Lisa

The only thing I can think going on at that time is Halloween Horror Nights. There is a Halloween thing for SW, but that's an event for young kid's and that is only the 26th and 27th. If you're looking for something to do not at the parks in the evening, I suggest Old Town... http://www.old-town.com/ In addition to what the website says, they also have a 300 ft Skycoaster and a Slingshot that shoot you over 300 ft if you're into the big thrills.
